is a proactive, 501c3 non-profit organization whose purpose is to bring our community together in order to help our homeless animals at the Rowan County Animal Shelter and the Rowan County community. works closely with the staff of the Rowan County Animal Shelter to identify and provide the animals needs. We have total control of where your donations to the animals end up. And your donation will a

The mission of Shelter Guardians is to provide volunteers and support for the homeless animals at the Rowan County Shelter, and in the community. Through our programs we facilitate shelter adoptions and assist in decreasing the number of animals returned and surrendered to the shelter. Our programs also educate children and youth about humane treatment of all companion animals, and the need for spay and neuter. Our purpose is to reduce the number of animals in need of a home, both at the shelter and in our community, by highlighting the contribution that companion animals can make to a person’s life when they are given a chance.

This month WINGS is raising money for the Shelter to Service program by Shelter Guardians, Inc. If you weren't able to attend the WINGS monthly meeting, you can donate online here: https://shelterguardians.org/shelter-to-service/.

Shelter to Service pairs rescued dogs with Veterans and then provides an extensive training program for the dog to become a service dog for that Veteran. Because of the generosity of our donors, there is no cost to the Veteran for training or equipment. We can also train a Veteran’s personal dog if the dog is rescued and passes service dog evaluation. Shelter to Service works to give an honorable purpose to the rescued dog, and help the Veteran form an unbreakable bond with their dog, and a lifeline for themselves. With respect and compassion for both the dog and the Veteran, Shelter to Service will be “Saving Heroes at Both Ends of the Leash.”

If you haven’t tried Crafty Buffalo in Salisbury you are missing out!!!
