Please welcome Dr. Katie Anderson to the Steinbeck Country Small Animal Clinic!
Becoming a veterinarian was a lifelong dream for Katie, who grew up in Plano, Texas. When she was little, she told her parents that she wanted to be a “pet-erinarian” because she thought the job was petting animals all day. As she grew up, her love for science and medicine made her realize that a career as a veterinarian would indeed be the perfect fit.
Katie earned a BS in Biomedical Sciences from Texas A&M, then worked in veterinary emergency medicine before returning to pursue her DVM. “I truly love my job,” says Katie, “And count myself lucky every day that this is what I get to do.” Her professional interests range from emergency medicine to surgery, ophthalmology, and cardiology, but enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine.
Katie’s husband Josh is active-duty Navy, so they have lived all across the U.S., most recently in Florida. They have a toddler named Caleb and a chihuahua-terrier mix named Maggie. Katie says that her family is her world. When they are not working, you can find them outdoors, or exploring the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Katie also enjoys reading, gardening, and baking.
