🛒 Did someone say SHOPPING?? Dahlia says she LOVES shopping (check out her trip to Lowe's) and she pulled together a small wishlist for Prime Day! Check out her wishlist here: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/16W1WN96TUN8B?ref=cm_sw_sm_r_un_un_LkXB63DrkwOzj

We are an incredibly small rescue and every item purchased is a huge help. 💕

Dahlia had an evaluation with our canine physical therapist/Medical Director yesterday! She has a great range of motion and isn’t showing any signs of pain. She’ll be able to live a normal life for the most part; she will need joint supplements and will likely develop arthritis, but who doesn’t these days.

We’re still doing recheck X-rays next week to have the most up to date information for her forever family, but things are looking really good for her. 😊

Dahlia is very happy that she's cleared for physical activity, because she loves to run and play!

🌺 Dahlia update!

Dahlia had her first vet appointment with us yesterday! The good news is that neither of her legs needs any immediate intervention. One of her legs may end up a little shorter than the other because one of the fractures affected her growth plate, but right now she is compensating really well.

We’re going to continue her pain medication for the next two weeks, and she’ll go back next week for another set of X-rays so we can get a better look at how everything is healing.

We also did a little X-ray practice while we were there to see if she might need to be sedated for them. Turns out the answer is absolutely not. 😂 This sweet girl was very happy with all the attention. ♥️

Shakira update!

Shakira is officially a New Hampshire girl. She made it here safely this weekend, and has officially completed her state-mandated 48-hour quarantine.

We landed on the name Dahlia because dahlias are associated with resilience and inner strength after hardship. We think that someone may not have been very kind to her in the past due to her injuries: two fractured back legs in different stages of healing. She's a little shy of strangers at first, but she warms up in a few seconds and is just the nicest puppy as can be. She is also very smart: she already learned to ring a bell when she needs to go potty outside!

She's on pain medication and taking it easy until her vet appointment on Wednesday, where we'll learn more about the best next steps for her.

Shakira update! She is incredibly sweet and very smart, and she's lost 3 baby teeth already! Here's a photo of her helping her foster mama with some laundry ♥️

Her leg does seem to be bothering her. She has a vet appointment today for pain management to help see her through transport.

When she arrives, we want to change her name to a type of flower - comment any ideas below! 🌸
