Cricket's Run Dressage

Cricket's Run Dressage Thank you for coming! With these tools, the horse/rider combination will have a bright, competitive future ahead of them.

Cricket's Run Dressage is a program geared towards competitive dressage, with an emphasis on the mental and physical health of the horse, and body awareness of the rider. We at Cricket's Run Dressage believe that the horse's happiness comes first, and that they have to associate work with a positive feeling, never looking at it negatively. When a horse is excited to work, they also gain the confid

ence to improve. Marissa LeFevre is a USDF silver medalist. She's currently bringing along her new 5 year old, Beldon, as well as still enjoying her two older boys, Bondir and Walker. She believes it is important to be current with your education and to compete regularly to keep up with your education. She has ridden in clinics with Olympic judge Gary Rockwell, Pam Goodrich, and Olympic rider Christine Traurig. Follow along with us as Marissa and Beldon continue on their journey together to create a long-lasting partnership as they move up the levels, as well as her adventures with Bondir and Walker as they enjoy life post-competing.

Very proud of my clients today who competed in he FRVHT in Barrington today!
Dublin had a fabulous warm up! She saw people walking up metal bleachers right before she entered her test, and unfortunately caused some tension which resulted in a couple costly mistakes, but the rest of the test was fabulous! I'm ecstatic with her warm up, and excited for the Silverwood show in July!
And a huge shout out to Finnegan and Madison for getting a 24 in their Dressage test!!!! They were rockstars!

Bondir is 24, came back from 2 extremely scary medical conditions in the past 2 years that had him in the hospital for a total of 3 months, and here he is, loving life and LOVES having a job. That is.... there are no words. Incredible doesn't begin to describe it! I have had many friends ask how he is doing recently, so I thought I would dress him in adorable blue and show you all! 😊

“The relaxation of the mouth alone is not enough. It can be deceptive, because it does not necessarily lead to lightness. It has to be accompanied by the relaxation of the entire horse. When…

"The best investment you can make is a good trainer. Find someone who is honest and critical without constantly putting you down and someone that gives you a plan and goals to aim for" - Carl Hester.
Always, always, always continue your education.
I have to say, I am so incredibly grateful for finding my trainers/mentors, Katie Hiller and Courtney Mohler. When I first got this big talented baby horse, I knew I needed guidance to help me find a program that suited my horse physically and mentally. Katie, Courtney, and the whole team at Wild Rose Farm were exactly everything I could have ever hoped for. We all come together and design flexible programs to fit all of Beldon's needs as he progresses. With baby horses, this program can change on a weekly basis at times... This picture here is one of the first rides Katie had on Beldon at Wild Rose Farm Back in November. It's incredible how far he has come! I'm usually ON him, so I haven't taken any pictures lately (the one where he is tacked up and keeping his back warm is the most recent), but I cannot wait to share his progress with you and show his transformation as he gains strength, confidence, balance, and through that... finds his ability. His willingness is remarkable. The number one goal for Beldon is that he loves what he does. And, so far, he thinks "dancing" is pretty cool!
