I have been working on rebuilding my poultry flock and while my ducks are a different breed than what I was originally told I'm very happy how they are growing!

The most exciting thing is I have five eggs that are in the incubator from my Cemani hen and Millie roo!!

These chicks will be raised in our garage in their own setup until I have their outside pen situated but I am so excited for my first official project chicks!

My goal is to raise a smaller yet healthy bird that not only has the ability to be productive in egg laying but in meat production as well.

I was diagnosed with Alpha gal in June and have been having quite a few allergic reactions to other things including gluten so I am making a lot of changes which includes raising our own food.

If you're interested in following along in that journey I will post on the weekends about my poultry flock otherwise we start scent indication today for Queen and Hamlet!

Baya had her first socializing outing in a while and she overall did very well! We sat in front of DG and people watched and she saw 2 kids that talked to her and she responded by sitting and waiting for treats!

She's such a special pup and even if she doesn't make it as a full fledged SD in public I'm happy to have her in my life in general 🥰

I've had some changes and she will be trained with my husband's Dachshund who has been catching on to my episodes. I will also have them be my dog for my program! I have a few years for that, with health testing and showing ect but thrilled to be on the right path with some wonderful breeders!

Can't wait to start tracking and bite work with hippo! We will be socializing while he is growing and Queen will be my main dog since she's doing well with psychiatric tasks!

Hamlet is also being trained for scent based tasks while I see how Hippo grows!

I do not task train until closer to 9 months old and since they're 5 months we are starting all the basics but three of the puppies have been catching on naturally!

🤣

Being human is more valuable than looking polished. Sometimes the typo is proof that a real person showed up.

Keep going.

I see people talk about dogs being stubborn due to them being a mixed breed AKA doodle and while I can understand what they mean I also don't understand why training is never mentioned as part of that stubbornness...

I have two dogs that I would consider stubborn but it's because I have not been consistent training them so they don't listen as well as before when they were consistently being worked with.

My health last year took an atrocious downward turn so a lot of the dogs were only walked off lease and not much training so getting back into it they're showing signs of being stubborn but that's because they haven't been worked appropriately.

I will never understand why people are so quick to judge the breed when they themselves haven't even done anything as a trainer or border to work with the dog.

Even us humans can be stubborn and we are stubborn because of various reasons so to put a dog in a box and say nothing can work shows a lack of skill and true understanding.
