We are an AAHA accredited practice offering high quality care at modest prices. A Brief History of Companion Pet Clinic
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Companion Pet Clinic, PC (corporation) was founded in April of 1982, by veterinarians who wanted to help control the burgeoning pet population and to provide quality veterinary care at affordable prices. Since that date, the corporation has sold several of its clinics, including the north Salem office to individual doctors willing to continue this tradition. The present owner of Companion Pet Clinic North Salem is Dr. Arthur Mills. He believes that the success of the clinic is partly due to the need that is present in our community, but primarily due to the employees' commitment, devotion, and concern for the pets and clients they serve. In 1994, Companion Pet Clinic North Salem was accepted as an accredited Hospital Member of the American Animal Hospital Association. Only 14% of the small animal facilities in North America can claim this disctinction. To maintain our accreditation, our hospital must meet the associations high standards for quality veterinary care. We are regularly evaluated by trained AAHA professionals to ensure that we maintain association standards and provide the best veterinary care we can. The AAHA standards of excellence cover the following areas and services in our hospital:
-Pet Medical Records
-Pharmacy
-Radiology Services
-Surgery
-Nursing Care
-Medical Library
-Examination Facilities
-Pathology Services
-Anesthesia
-Dentistry
-Housekeeping and Maintenance

As you can see, these AAHA standards provide a benchmark for the quality of care we provide, as does our belief that "No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted." If you have any questions about AAHA and what it means feel free to visit their website at aaha.org/petowner.
