If you are coming in to the office this morning please be aware that the railroad track crossings all through town are blocked by a stopped train since early this AM. If you are coming in from west of the tracks it is advisable to utilize the overpass via State Street.

The staff at Salem Veterinary Clinic has cajoled, harassed and basically bullied Doc into signing everyone up for the Rooster Run Walk during the Canfield Fair! Although she is a reluctant participant, being an alumnus of Mahoning County 4-H and a regular supporter of 4-H in Mahoning and Columbiana counties, it's a great cause! Who is brave enough to join us for a little early morning Sunday exercise? See you there, look for our matching T-Shirts!

The Rooster Run Walk is on Sunday September 6, 2026. It includes the following events: Duckling Dash, Virtual 5K, and Rooster Run/Walk 5K.

Folks we are not always as adamant a out this as we should be. We will be asking about every patient’s vaccine status and updating if needed. It’s for the exposures that are potentially not witnessed or known that are the most concerning. Please call and get your pet updated if needed.

Any human who encounters a possibly infected animal must seek medical attention immediately, according to Mahoning County Public Health.
