Blue's story didn't start the way every dog deserves.

When Blue first came into rescue, he had clearly been through a lot. He was severely underweight and came from a difficult situation where he wasn't getting the care he needed. Despite everything he endured, Blue never lost his kind spirit or his love for people.

Today, Blue is healthy, happy, and ready for a fresh start.

At approximately 3–4 years old and around 30 pounds, Blue is the perfect medium-sized companion. We believe he is a Bluetick Coonhound mix, and he has all the wonderful qualities hound lovers adore. He's friendly, intelligent, and enjoys spending time with his people. Blue is crate trained, eager to learn, and has proven himself to be a smart boy who thrives with consistency and kindness.

Blue has overcome so much and is now ready for the one thing he has never truly had—a family of his own. He deserves a home where he'll be loved, cherished, and never have to wonder where his next meal or safe place to sleep will come from.

Jett is a 12-week-old Black Lab puppy with a heart full of love and a tail that never seems to stop wagging. Like any happy puppy, Jett loves attention, affection, toys, and treats, and he's always excited to spend time with his people.

She has no idea she is homeless.... because she's never had a real home...she's just happy to be alive and that is the beauty inside a dog. They're forever forgiving.

You see Delilah, a Boxer mix was left behind in a box in the middle of the street in Olean, NY. She ended up at Dog Control and that is where we found her but she had to wait there for weeks until we had room for her. If we had more fosters she could have been bounced outta there quicker. Truth is we are full, full...we have been for months. Our fosters are tapped out in this small group of ours. There are a handful of us taking care of everything that needs to be done. We are doing everything we possibly can. We need support in every way possible as we head into busy season for rescue.

Delilah is fostered with other dogs and has been exposed to farm animals. She is crate trained and is learning how to dog. She loves this toy here!

We sure hope she doesn't have to wait much longer for a true home of her own. She is almost 5 months old now and she deserves to be happy and feel the security of a real home.

Sometimes rescue doesn't look like cute adoption photos or happy gotcha day posts.

Sometimes it looks like alarm clocks going off before sunrise, vehicles packed with carriers, crates stacked high, long drives, paperwork, fundraising, and volunteers working behind the scenes to make sure animals receive the care they need.

This week alone, Empire Animal Rescue Society helped 65 local animals get spayed and neutered.

These aren't the glamorous parts of rescue, but they are some of the most important. Every spay and neuter prevents future suffering, reduces shelter overcrowding, and helps break the cycle that leads to unwanted litters, abandonment, and homelessness.

So if we've seemed a little quiet lately, it's because we've been hard at work where it matters most.

Rescue doesn't stop when the cameras are off.

Thank you to every supporter, donor, volunteer, adopter, and advocate who makes this work possible. You may not see every mile driven, every carrier loaded, or every life changed, but your support is behind every single one.

Every day, Snoopy waits.

Not for food. Not for toys. Not even for treats.

Okay... definitely for treats. 😹

But mostly, Snoopy is waiting for a family of his very own.

This adorable little guy has mastered the art of being ridiculously cute. He's playful, affectionate, curious, and always ready to investigate whatever you're doing (whether you asked for help or not).

Snoopy has survived rescue life, foster life, and countless photo shoots. Yet somehow, he still hasn't found his forever home.

His tiny heart dreams of sunny windows, cozy blankets, endless toys, and a human who will tell him how handsome he is at least 47 times a day.

🤍 Meet Wren 🤍

Some dogs wear their hearts on their sleeves. Wren wears hers quietly, waiting for the right person to notice.

Wren is one of the sweet souls we rescued from the heartbreaking neglect situation in West Valley. Despite everything she has been through, this beautiful girl has remained gentle, kind, and full of potential.

At approximately 1½ to 2 years old, Wren is believed to be the daughter of another dog rescued alongside her. She is a lovely hound mix with a mostly white coat accented by soft tan patches and the sweetest soulful eyes.

Wren can be a little shy when meeting new people, but once she realizes she's safe, her sweet personality begins to shine. She is crate trained, fully vetted, and has been working hard on her leash skills. In fact, she's picking up leash walking quickly and continues to gain confidence every day.

What Wren needs now is a patient family willing to give her the time and love she deserves. Someone who understands that the best relationships are often the ones that take a little time to bloom.

After surviving neglect and uncertainty, Wren is finally ready for a life filled with warm beds, gentle hands, and unconditional love.
