Play & Train Graduate Lucy! 🎓

Lucy spent the last two weeks working on basic obedience, impulse control, recall, loose leash walking, and building confidence and neutrality around people and dogs. 🐾

One of her biggest goals was working through reactivity toward certain men, and it was so rewarding watching her learn to calmly observe, disengage, and look to her handler for guidance instead of reacting.

Lucy made some awesome progress over these two weeks, and I’m so excited for her family to continue building on everything she’s learned! 💜

Nothing better than a dog who wants to stay connected with you. 👏💖

Lucy has been putting in the work on her loose leash walking, and that engagement is really starting to show! Watching her confidently move through the environment while continuing to check in with her handler is exactly the kind of progress we love to see. 🐾

Proof that you can work hard AND have a good time doing it. 😂🐾

Lucy took her training to the park today to work on her heel around real-world distractions—cars passing by, people walking nearby, bikes and even another dog!

The goal isn’t for her to never notice what’s happening around her. It’s teaching her that she can notice it, stay neutral, and choose to stay connected with her handler instead. 💜

And judging by that smile… I think she approves of today’s field trip. 😂

My goal is never just to teach your dog a list of commands—it’s to make sure you understand what we’re teaching, why we’re teaching it, and how to continue building on those skills long after the program ends.

Getting to watch dogs grow throughout their training is one of my favorite parts of what I do, but knowing their owners feel supported and confident along the way makes it even better.

So grateful for every family who trusts me with their dogs. 🐾

Say hello to Lucy! 🐾

Lucy is a sweet Basset Hound joining me for two weeks of Play & Train!

Her biggest goals during the program are building stronger basic obedience and working on reactivity she sometimes displays toward men while out on walks. Since not every man is a trigger for Lucy, we’ll be focusing on building her confidence, engagement with her handler, and ability to remain neutral and take direction when something in her environment makes her uncomfortable.

Throughout the next two weeks, we’ll be working on skills like come, sit, down, place, loose leash walking, recall, duration, and impulse control. As her foundation gets stronger, we’ll begin practicing in more distracting environments and working toward calm, neutral responses around the things she may find challenging.

Lucy is already off to a great start, and I’m excited to see her progress over the next two weeks! 🐾

Play & Train Graduate: Wilco 🎓🐾

Congratulations to Wilco on completing his Play & Train program! Over the past two weeks, Wilco has worked hard on becoming more confident, engaged, and reliable while learning to stay connected to his handler even when exciting things are happening around him.

It’s been so rewarding watching him need less guidance as the program progressed and start making more of those good choices on his own. He’s such a smart boy and has built a great foundation for his family to continue at home!

Today’s office looked a little different. 🌳🐾

Training isn’t just about teaching commands—it’s about helping dogs learn how to navigate the world with confidence.

Field trips give us the opportunity to work in real-life environments where there are new smells, people, dogs, wildlife, and plenty of distractions. Every outing helps build better communication and gives dogs the chance to practice making good choices outside of the training facility.

Wilco had a great day exploring, learning, and gaining more experience in a new environment. Every successful outing is another step toward a dog that’s enjoyable to take anywhere. 🤎

Training isn’t just about practicing commands over and over.

Short play breaks help keep dogs engaged, motivated, and excited to work. Instead of letting training become repetitive, we use play as a reward so they’re eager to jump right back into the next repetition. A dog who enjoys training is a dog who learns faster. 🧸🐾

Say hello to Wilco! 👋🐾

Wilco is a 1.5-year-old Cavapoo joining me for Play & Train! He’s an incredibly sweet and smart boy, but his owners are looking for help building his confidence and independence while creating more reliability in everyday life.

Over the next two weeks, we’ll be working on loose leash walking, building longer duration on place, helping him become more comfortable spending time on his own, and creating a more reliable recall—even when something more exciting catches his attention. 🐿️

I’m excited to work with Wilco and help set both him and his family up for long-term success. Be sure to follow along as we document his Play & Train journey! 🐾
