As Minnesota temperatures begin dropping, start getting your pet ready for colder walks—especially puppies, seniors, small breeds, and pets with short coats.

Check that winter coats or booties still fit, and remember that every pet's cold tolerance is different.

Changes in mobility, appetite, weight, behavior, or sleep can sometimes signal an underlying health concern rather than simply "old age."

Plain, cooked or canned pumpkin without added sugar or spices can be appropriate for many pets in small amounts—but pumpkin pie filling and heavily sweetened or spiced treats aren't pet treats.
