🚨 Kitten fosters needed 🚨

We are hosting our final Kitten Surrender Event of the year at our Minneapolis location this Friday (8/14)… which means we are needing kitten foster homes 😻

The purpose of our Kitten Surrender Event remains the same... breaking the cycle before it can begin again by spaying and neutering kittens before they get adopted out into their homes.

We know that over 1.5 MILLION kittens enter shelters across the nation every single year... that is over 4,000 kittens PER DAY 🤯 We know that it's hard to manage unexpected litters. We know that access to affordable care is limited and there simply isn't enough resources.

But, we also know that it's even harder to say no to those animals in need.

This is us trying to lower the barriers... because this event is about more than just the kittens being surrendered. It’s about supporting the people caring for them, too.

If you’re surrendering a kitten (or multiple) and still have pets in your home to care for, we will have resources and support for those animals as well! Dog and cat food. Cat litter. Spay/neuter vouchers. Information on local resources.

If you have kittens that need placement, pets at home who aren’t yet spayed or neutered, or maybe you just need support and resources... we’re here to help ❤

Declawing cats is inhumane!

This is a question from a preparatory course for the North American Veterinary License Examination (The exam is administered by the International Council for Veterinary Assessment - Chicago, Illinois). Is the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) position really this horrible?

We're thrilled to share that Purrniture was just featured in Racket, and it's got us reflecting on 35 years of doing things our own way. 🐾

It all started in 1991 with one hand-built cat tower made from scrap wood and carpet — because owner Darryl Michaelson couldn't find anything on the market sturdy enough for his own cat. That "why isn't this better?" moment turned into a lifelong mission: build cat furniture that's genuinely built for cats — durable, comfortable, and made to handle real feline life (climbing, scratching, chonky cats and all).

Every piece at Purrniture is still handcrafted using upcycled, locally-sourced materials, and we still offer trade-ins and refurbishing for old, worn-down furniture. Sustainability and quality have always gone paw-in-paw here.
We're especially excited about what's next: we're currently tripling the size of our University Avenue showroom, and building a brand-new "catio" — a dedicated space where foster cats can play, relax, and hopefully find their forever homes.

Thank you to every customer (and every cat) who has supported us over the past three-plus decades. We can't wait to show you what's coming!

🐾 Meet Purrniture stars Zeus and Zena! 🐾

These feline siblings, Zeus and Zena (both 7 years old) are always on the move!

📸 Zeus proudly took on the role of our main model, showing off his favorite perch and proving that every cat deserves a throne.

📸 Meanwhile, Zena made a memorable appearance in our Castle Royale, with her tail hanging perfectly down the center. Even better? She loves diving through the Royale's tube opening and popping out unexpectedly—providing endless entertainment for anyone lucky enough to watch!

While our other three cats slept through the excitement (typical cat behavior 😹), Zeus and Zena reminded us exactly why we design furniture cats love to climb, lounge, explore, and play on.

One of our fantastic state fair teen workers is a player on the Maple Grove High School Crimson girls lacrosse team. She is a superstar kitty lover and helps her mom foster dozens of kittens every year. When she and her mom asked us to be a sponsor, we couldn’t resist! Go to a game and check out our sign!
