Big Leap of Faith Dog Training & Services Big Leap of Faith is named after my two original Pit Bulls.

Big Leap of Faith offers private lessons, group classes, board & train, working through undesired behaviors, as well as the opportunity to participate in group walks. I have always had a passion for dogs and dog training but it was not until a 4 month old Pit bull came into my life that I knew the love I had for training came in all breeds and sizes.

BLOF T-Shirt & Sweatshirt Order is up!

By popular request, BLOF is placing a reorder for one of our previous shirt colors in time for the fair! We also have a NEW color option up for both a t-shirt and sweatshirt.

If you've been thinking about getting one, now's your chance. The hooded sweatshirt is incredibly comfortable and has quickly become a favorite!

Session four of shaping.  I haven’t had time to work with her the last couple of days so this is her fourth session and I elected to stay standing and she nailed it! So much fun teaching  when your dog is engaged and wants to participate!

Day three of working shaping the bowl exercise and my criteria has increased a little for Mahiya.  I’d like her to place both feet on the bowl before the reward and today she did a very good job of that.  You can also see her problem-solving when she didn’t understand what she should do. I didn’t look at her and I stared at the bowl and eventually she took that as a cue.

Mahiya and I are working on some free shaping.  This type of training relies entirely on the dog thinking and figuring out what action earns the treat. This is Mahiya’s second session of figuring out that putting her paws on the bowl gets her the reward. I suspect in several days this will be an automatic behavior.😊

New This Session: Beyond Basic Obedience!

Each week we'll focus on mastering one essential skill:

🐕 Reliable Recalls
🐕 Focused Heeling
🐕 Rock-Solid Stays
🐕 Place Command & Real-Life Control

We'll also spend time preparing for the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC), Community Canine (CGCA), and Urban CGC (CGCU) tests. On Week 4, you'll have the opportunity to complete your evaluations and earn your titles!

Whether you're looking to strengthen your dog's foundation, improve reliability in distracting environments, or work toward AKC titles, this class is for you.
