Great veterinary care is always a team effort, and this week, we're celebrating some of the amazing people who make it happen! 🐾

For National Veterinary Technician Week, we're recognizing our licensed veterinary technicians and veterinary assistants at Grand Avenue Veterinary Center. These dedicated team members bring expertise, compassion, and countless little acts of kindness to their work, helping our patients feel safer and more comfortable while supporting the people who love them.

There's so much that happens behind the scenes during a veterinary visit, and we're incredibly grateful for the skill, teamwork, and heart our team brings to every day.

Take a moment to meet the wonderful people we're celebrating, and if you see them at the clinic, let them know they're appreciated! ❀️

A little construction update, with a lot to look forward to! 🏑✨

Our clinic remodel is right on schedule! The three new exam rooms and our new front desk area are taking shape, and sheetrock work begins this week. Every step brings us closer to welcoming patients and their people into our refreshed space.

We're so pleased with our experience working with Gray Duck Remodeling and are excited to see the project continue to progress. With construction still slated for completion by Christmas, we're so grateful to everyone for bearing with us during this transformation. We can't wait to show you what's next!

Sometimes, a little something delicious can make a big difference! 😻 Churu treats are a favorite way to help our feline patients feel more comfortable during their veterinary visits. Offering something tasty and enjoyable can create positive associations with the experience, helping build trust and make future visits a little less intimidating.

And honestly, look at that sweet face. We think this little one approves! πŸ’™

πŸ’š Let's talk about THC and our pets.

Cannabis products can be toxic to dogs and cats, and accidental exposure can happen more easily than you might think. Edibles, in particular, can pose additional risks because they may contain other harmful ingredients, such as chocolate or xylitol.

If you suspect your pet has gotten into a cannabis product, please tell your veterinary team. We're not here to judge you. We're here to help your pet. Knowing what your pet may have ingested, how much, and when it happened helps us assess the situation and provide the most appropriate care.

There's no need to feel embarrassed or leave out details. Your honesty helps us help your best friend. 🐾

If your pet may have been exposed to THC, contact your veterinarian or an emergency veterinary clinic promptly for guidance.

🚩 Is your cat spending more time in the litter box, having accidents around the house, or seeming uncomfortable when urinating?

These changes may be signs of a urinary tract issue. Although bacterial UTIs can occur in cats, other conditions - including bladder inflammation and urinary crystals or stones - can cause similar symptoms.

If you notice changes in your cat's urination habits, contact your veterinarian. And if your cat is repeatedly straining without producing urine, don't wait for an appointment - seek emergency veterinary care immediately.

Our graphic shares common symptoms to keep on your radar. Because our feline friends deserve to feel comfortable from nose to tail! πŸˆπŸ’™
