🐾 TRANSFORMATION TUESDAY — WINSTON 💙

Winston spent the first year of his life outside, chained to a fence. He had never known the love, attention, socialization, or even basic grooming that every dog deserves.

When Winston came to the shelter, he was scared and completely matted. But underneath all of that neglect was a little dog who just needed someone to give him a chance. ❤️

Thankfully, one of our rescue partners stepped up. Winston was groomed, given the care he needed, and slowly began learning what it meant to feel safe, loved, and wanted.

And now… look at him! 🥹 Winston has been adopted and is living his best life with a family who loves him unconditionally.

From forgotten to family.
Same dog. Different life. Forever loved. 🐾💙

🐾 DID YOU KNOW FRIDAY? 🐾

A wagging tail doesn’t always mean a happy or friendly dog!

Dogs communicate with their whole body. A wagging tail can mean excitement, nervousness, uncertainty, or even be a warning.

👀 Watch for stiff posture, pinned ears, lip licking, avoiding eye contact, or a tucked tail. These are all ways a dog may be telling you, “I need space.”

Being able to recognize these signals and always ask before petting can help prevent bites and keep everyone safe.

💕 TRANSFORMATION TUESDAY — GRACIE 💕

When Gracie first came to us, she was in rough shape—weak, severely underweight, scared, and desperately in need of care. Looking at her then, it was hard to imagine the happy girl she would become.

Gracie was given the care she needed and then welcomed into a foster home, where she had time to heal, gain strength, and learn what it meant to feel safe and loved. ❤️

And look at her now! 🥹 Gracie has officially been ADOPTED and has a family who says they simply couldn’t imagine their home without her in it.

From surviving to thriving, Gracie’s transformation is a reminder of exactly why second chances matter.

🐾 DID YOU KNOW FRIDAY? 🐾

Matted fur is more than just a cosmetic issue—it can become painful and lead to serious health problems for your pet.

Severe matting can:
🐾 Pull tightly on the skin, causing pain and discomfort
🐾 Trap moisture, dirt, and bacteria, leading to sores and skin infections
🐾 Hide wounds, parasites, and other medical concerns
🐾 Make it harder for pets to regulate their body temperature
🐾 Restrict movement when mats form around the legs and joints

Regular brushing and grooming aren’t just about keeping your pet looking good—they’re an important part of keeping them healthy and comfortable. ❤️

🐾 TRANSFORMATION TUESDAY — FRITZ 🐾

Fritz was found by a good person after breaking free, still carrying part of the chain that once held him and suffering from a severely embedded collar.

At the shelter, we removed the collar, treated his wounds, and discovered he was also heartworm positive. Through everything, Fritz remained the sweetest, friendliest pup. ❤️

Thankfully, one of our rescue partners stepped in, got Fritz the heartworm treatment he needed, and sent him on transport to his new life.

Today, Fritz has a loving home, comfy places to sleep, and even a four-legged friend of his own. Most importantly, he will never again have to worry about life on a chain or tether.

Same dog. Different life. Finally loved. 🐾❤️

A HUGE thank you to Carsons Farm & Garden Inc for their incredible donation to our shelter!

They donated 12 bags of cat food and 17 bags of dog food — that’s a whole lot of full bellies! 🐶🐱

Donations like this make such a difference for the animals in our care, and we are incredibly grateful for businesses in our community who continue to support our shelter and the animals we serve.

Thank you, Carson’s, for helping us keep our tails wagging and our bowls full!🩷🐾
