Country Place Veterinary Clinic was established in 1990 as a full-service veterinary medical facility to serve the people of St. The goal of Dr. Jackie Simon and her professional and courteous staff is to provide quality medicine and surgery services while educating pet owners in the art of preventative medicine. We are committed to promoting responsible pet ownership, preventative health care and

health related educational opportunities for our clients. Dr. Simon is a member of the Acadiana Area Veterinary Association (has been treasure for the past several years), the Louisiana Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Walter J Earnest Foundation, Louisiana State Animal Response Team (LSART), and has served on the Lafayette Parish Animal Control Advisory Board. She has worked with the Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Kiwanis Club, 4-H Clubs, and Trinity Catholic School organizations. Each year she sponsors the Healthy Heart Contest for area fourth graders. In 2006, Country Place Veterinary Clinic was awarded the prestigious Good Neighbor Award by the Better Business Bureau and was recognized as a runner-up for the Customer Commitment Award. Associates Dr Lindsay Reed and Dr Megan Simon are both graduates of LSU-SVM. Dr Megan is available for ambulatory calls of livestock, equine and companion animals. Country Place Veterinary Clinic will be CLOSED on Monday, September 7th for the Labor Day Holiday. Office hours will resume on Tuesday morning at 8:00am.
In case of an emergency please call Lafayette Animal Emergency Clinic at 337-989-0992 or the LSU After Hours service at 225-578-9600. If you work, celebrate the day. If retired thank someone still working!

One confirmed case of rabies in an unvaccinated dog. A pet dog living in Mire recently began showing progressive neurological symptoms and was ultimately euthanized. The dog was submitted for rabies testing, and the test came back positive for rabies.
Additional testing is pending on other household dogs.
Please vaccinate your pets even if rarely go outside. This is a preventable but deadly disease.

🐶Our Intro to Agility workshop is a great way to have fun with your pet! . This 1 hour workshop will introduce your dog to agility obstacles such as - the A-frame, weaves, tunnel, jumps, dog walk and more! The cost is $45/dog.

✅Classes take place at our training center located at 131 James Comeaux Rd, Lafayette La 70508.
✅Proof of current vaccinations given by a veterinarian, a negative f***l, and flea prevention are needed to attend class. Puppies need 2 rounds of vaccines given by a veterinarian.
✅All classes are taught with positive reinforcement based methods, we do not use any choke, prong, or shock collars.

Calling All Southwest Region Louisiana 4-H & FFA Livestock Exhibitors!
Join us on November 30, 2026, in Acadia Parish for the Southwest Regional Showmanship Clinic! This hands-on learning experience is open to youth in grades 4-12 and is designed to help exhibitors improve their showmanship skills, gain confidence in the show ring, and learn more about animal nutrition, health, daily care, and livestock project management.
Participants will rotate through educational sessions, enjoy species-specific breakout workshops, and have the opportunity to ask questions and receive one-on-one assistance from experienced livestock volunteers. Youth are welcome to bring their own animals for hands-on practice, but bringing an animal is not required.
-Open to 4-H & FFA Members in 4-12 grade only! Must completely register through 4-HOnline event to participate!
-Registration is OPEN now and closes September 30 through 4-HOnline
-Registration fee: $10 (includes lunch and an event t-shirt)
-An optional in-person YQCA Certification course will be offered following the clinic in the LSU AgCenter Auditorium. Participants must register separately through their YQCA account and pay an additional $3.00 certification fee. More details on how to register for the YQCA course will be sent to participants after clinic registration closes.
Whether you're new to livestock projects or preparing for the upcoming show season, this clinic is a great opportunity to learn, grow, and connect with fellow exhibitors from across Southwest Louisiana. We look forward to seeing you there!
