Please take the time to help find this beautiful girl the best home suitable for her.

From current owner:

Chai is a little over 1 year old, spayed, and I rescued her in January. She is incredibly sweet, loving, smart, and full of personality. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs, cats, and people of all ages. She loves attention, playtime, and being part of the family.

Chai’s biggest challenge is severe separation anxiety. Despite months of effort, training, and trying different solutions, apartment living has not been the right fit for her. When left alone, her anxiety can lead to accidents and messes in the house. While medication like trazodone has helped at times, I do not want that to be her long-term solution.

I truly believe Chai would thrive in a home with:
• Someone who is home most of the time or has a flexible schedule
• Patience to continue working on her house training and anxiety
• An active lifestyle with regular walks, playtime, and enrichment
• A fenced yard or larger space where she can run and burn off energy

This decision comes from wanting what is best for Chai. I love her dearly and have spent months trying to make things work, but she deserves a home that can better meet her needs than I can right now.

If you or someone you know may be a good fit, please send me a message. Finding the right home is my top priority, and I will be extremely selective to ensure she goes to a loving family that can give her the life she deserves. 🤎

Creature Feature- Snow Fleas

When you're venturing out in the winter you may not notice these easily overlooked invertebrates. They can be spotted at the base of trees and peppered around on top of the snow. They look like tiny black specks and could be mistaken as bits of dirt until you look closer.

Don't let their name fool you, these tiny soil dwelling creatures aren't really fleas but are a type of springtail. They also aren't parasites. These Hexapods feed on decaying organic matter like leaf litter and play an important role in decomposition. They got the name snow flea because they use a tail like appendage to launch themselves a good distance.

Only a few species of springtails can handle bitter winter temperatures . These species create their own antifreeze in their systems called " glycerin-rich antifreeze proteins" that bind to ice crystals preventing them from growing in their bodies.
