Each year, December there is a profound reminder of life's most treasured moments, which has me reflecting on the bittersweet emotions that fill this month (and Halloween), as I continue on the journey of healing and growth following the loss of my son. During the darkest moments when the realization that life with my son would never be the same many times it felt overwhelming, but there was also the times where my loyal dog , Cookie was always by my side. Every time tears began to fall, she would lovingly appear in my face, intuitively sensing my sadness. She was my constant shadow, she would follow my son and me everywhere. This morning, while immersed in the beauty of christmas and music, a poignant realization dawned on me - I have another shadow and her name Is Sammy. Sammy, bears a striking resemblance to Cookie, but in a larger form. In those intense moments of sorrow, Sammy is right there, her presence a comforting reminder that she's attuned to my emotional state. Many might think a pet is oblivious to our emotions, but that couldn't be further from the truth. I firmly believe that a higher power sent these incredible animals to us, entrusting us with the sacred responsibility to love and care for them. I'm deeply grateful for Sammy's presence in my life, especially during moments when I need her most. She truly is a blessing. So during this season of love and gratitude, remember the precious gifts that your fur babies give so freely to you. Our family at Washington Family Vet want to wish you and those wonderful furbabies a very Merry Christmas! Here are some of our most precious patients that we have the honor to take care of.

Spooky Paws & Pampered Claws at Washington Family Vet! 🎃🐾
Oh, what a fang-tastic Halloween season we are having. Our lobby has turned into a parade of purr-fectly disguised fluffballs – think tiny pumpkins waddling on four legs, superhero pups ready to save the day (from squeaky toys), and some sassy kitties channeling their inner costume fun.🐱
The best part? Every costumed cutie scored a FREE nail trim just for strutting their stuff! We clipped those claws while handing out treats and tricks (mostly treats – who can resist a good belly rub?).
Thanks to all our furry friends and fabulous families for making our clinic the coziest haunt in town. There is still time for your little monster to get a free nail trim. Give our front witches a call to make an appointment! Good until October 31st, 2025. 435-627-1300

We are pleased to resume our Vet tech shoutouts! Let's extend our appreciation to another outstanding veterinary technician, Lori. With approximately one year of dedicated service at Washington Family Vet, Lori has proven herself to be an invaluable asset to our team. Her exceptional work ethic and compassionate nature have earned her a special place in our hearts. Lori's humility and joyful spirit are contagious, and her remarkable laughter is a treasure to behold. We are impressed by her respectful interactions with our doctors, as well as her ability to find humor in challenging situations. As a devoted pet owner to her lovable pup, Benny, Lori exemplifies the values of kindness and empathy. Her soothing presence at our clinic ensures a welcoming environment, and she treats each member of the Washington Family with warmth and consideration. Happy Vet Tech week, Lori - we are grateful for your dedication!
