Part of being a lesson horseā€¦ patience. Crocket and Irish standing ground tied while their riders help me set up their jump exercise.

Crocket is lesson horse level noviceā€¦ he stood for a while but watched us the whole time before deciding to see if heā€™d be able to make it over to the grass for a snack while he waited. After being put back for the third time, he accepted his fate and stayed.

Irish is lesson horse level expert. He immediately flopped his ears and relaxed until he was eventually fast asleep, with Sangria taking advantage of the shade he made šŸ˜‚

Very belatedā€¦ but want to give a big congratulations to Anika and Pirate for their win at the War Horse Horse Trials down at Feather Creek Farm in Oklahoma.

We went down for the weekend and it was Anikaā€™s first time doing cross country and then Sunday her first time competing in a horse trial. Pirate was super excited to get back out there and had a blast showing his girl around the ins and outs of eventing!

They were third after dressage with a 32.2 and after cantering around the stadium course like a pro, they moved up to first place. And jumped clean on cross country to hold it! I couldnā€™t be prouder of Anikaā€™s riding and I loved seeing the sparkle in my ponyā€™s eye when he got to that start box ā¤ļøā¤ļø

This pair is planning on competing through this season and hopefully in to next year, as long as no major growth spurts happen!
