I recently did an application focusing on supporting the lumbar and glutes ✨🐴
What I found really interesting was that the K-tape stayed on Uttech’s right side, but not his left after about 24 hours.
Why is this interesting? 🤔
In the past, I injured what I suspect was my right piriformis. Since then, riding has become increasingly difficult for me because I tend to brace and compensate while riding. I’ve wondered if that compensation could potentially show up in my horses’ bodies as I unintentionally “squeeze” or clench the right side of my body.
When he was in training, his trainer mentioned his left shoulder wouldn’t “give” as nicely compared to the other side.
- One thing I’ve learned through studying bodywork is that the limbs work in diagonal pairs. This got me wondering: could compensation patterns in his shoulder be contributing to what I was feeling through his lumbar and gluteal region?
I’m not saying that’s definitively what’s happening, but it’s an interesting pattern to observe.
Sometimes, the most interesting findings are the ones that make you ask more questions. 🐴💭
