Maverick Veterinary Service

📍Douglas, Arizona

It's our favorite time of year again! Dr. Sheldon is down at the Cochise County Fair for the remainder of the week. While he is there we thought we'd have a little fun; everyone has heard of Where's Waldo and now we are introducing you to Where's Sheldon? (We will give you a little hint, he will definitely be in a button up western shirt and wearing a Maverick Veterinary Service hat.)

If you spot Dr. Sheldon, grab a selfie with him and post it in the comments! We'll choose one winner from the comments and they'll get their choice of a free Maverick Veterinary Service hat or a free rabies vaccine. Good luck!

And don't worry, while Dr. Sheldon is out there drawing blood on champion animals we still have the amazing Dr. Chelsea and Dr. Kim seeing patients!

With our new veterinarians came the need for some additional staff. This one offered to be our handyman, organize medical storage, and help with farm calls—all for the low price of an apple a day. Unfortunately, he’s been horsing around and productivity has been… questionable. 😂

We would like to officially welcome Dr. Chelsea and Dr. Kim to Maverick Veterinary Service!

We are thrilled to have these two amazing veterinarians join our team and hope you all love them as much as we do.

If you have seen us recently you may have met both of them already. Dr. Chelsea has been with us for several months and is now taking clients on her own. Dr. Kim has shadowed Dr. Sheldon over the past few months while finishing her degree at UofA, now that she's graduated she decided to stay!

Please give these two a nice warm welcome!

We are growing!
Do you enjoy making animals and their people feel valued? Do you have a passion for helping people and hashing out details over the phone? Do you have a general knowledge and passion for pets and livestock? If that sounds like you, then you're just what we're looking for!

Here at Maverick Veterinary Service, we deeply care about our client relationships; without them, we'd have no animals to help. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and wants to provide the best service to clients, livestock, and pets alike.

The Role
As a Customer Care Specialist, you will be answering phones, scheduling appointments, and replying to emails. We need someone with great communication and problem solving skills, as you will be working closely with our veterinary staff to answer questions and schedule accordingly.

This is a true hybrid position. We would also like you in clinic one day a week as a Veterinary Assistant—where yes, you do occasionally get to cuddle puppies, kittens, and even piglets! Because this role is hybrid, we may also need your help occasionally out on the road or an extra day in the clinic.

What You’ll Need:
A general understanding of veterinary care for horses, livestock, dogs, and cats.
A passion for both the animals and the details.
If this sounds like your dream job, then we'd love to hear from you!

Yikes, I wonder if this guy knows he is supposed to avoid the cacti.
We are glad we could lend some aid to this poor fella. We started off by taking an x-ray, after realizing it wasn't in the joint capsule, we were able to prep the area and pull that bad boy out!

Before and after dental scaling and polish!

Tartar and bacteria buildup can cause inflamation and discomfort to your pet, which ultimately can affect their daily routine. We provide a pain-free experience that gives your pet a refreshed mouth! Not only is it beneficial for their oral health, but it also helps to protect the heart, kidneys, and liver as well!
