We need your help.

Today was Marin’s first day back at Tri-County Humane Society. The day didn’t go how we wanted or expected, and we are asking for the community's aid.

Marin is a 2-month-old kitten who spent time in foster care to heal from severe, perforating ulcerations on both eyes. He was put on a treatment plan that included pain management, oral antibiotics, antibiotic eye drops, and serum eye drops. Our social media followers may remember that Marin’s eye serum was made using a blood donation from a TCHS dog.

Volunteers alerted us this afternoon after they saw a visitor interacting with Marin then quickly leaving the cat room. They discovered Marin wasn’t in his kennel, and video footage shows the visitor removed him from the kennel, placed him in their bag, and left TCHS.

Marin’s health has improved greatly, but he still needs specific follow-up care. To the person who took him, or to members of the community who may know who took him – we just want him back safely. Contact us and bring him back ASAP, and we will not press charges. We want to be clear: Marin's health is NOT in danger; we just want his eyes to continue to improve.

Marin is very identifiable – from his coloring to his cloudy eyes to the fact he’s microchipped with the TCHS name.

Hot spots are heating up! 🔥

We’ve been seeing an uptick in hot spots lately, and these irritated areas can become uncomfortable very quickly!

Hot spots are areas of irritated skin that can be made worse by scratching, licking, or biting. They can spread and become very sensitive, so it’s important to keep an eye out for any changes in your pet’s skin.

If you notice a hot spot on your pet, bring them in so we can help figure out what’s causing the irritation and get them feeling better! 💕

7 socks. 1 carrot. 0 regrets. 🧦

Meet Helix, our Saint Bernard with a very interesting appetite! He decided the laundry bin looked like the perfect snack bar and helped himself to 7 socks and a piece of carrot. 🥕

After getting the care he needed, Helix is now recovering in style in a recovery suit because, of course, he was NOT a fan of the cone. 😂

And while he’s feeling better… let it be known that Helix is STILL thinking about those socks. 👀
