We are celebrating a HUGE milestone, Maria’s 10 year anniversary with Loyal Companions! ❤️🐾

Maria has been part of Loyal Companions since the very beginning, and we are so lucky to have had her by our side for an entire decade!

She is incredibly loyal, always willing to jump in and help wherever she is needed, and definitely knows how to make work more fun. Her experience, dedication, and sense of humor have made her such an important part of our team over the years.

Today we’re celebrating April’s 4-year anniversary as our amazing Fear Free groomer! 🐾✂️❤️

April has such a kind and gentle way with every dog she works with. She is incredibly sensitive to each pet’s individual needs and goes above and beyond to make their grooming experience as comfortable and stress-free as possible.

She has an especially soft spot for our senior friends, giving them the extra patience, time, and TLC they deserve. ❤️

A trip to the vet doesn’t have to be a stressful experience. 🐾💙

Our Fear Free approach is all about helping dogs feel safer and more comfortable during their visits, from the way we approach and handle them to the little things we do to reduce fear and anxiety.

Through our partnership with Anderson Humane, adopted pets receive a complimentary Fear Free first exam at Loyal Companions. It’s one small way we can help make that transition into a new home a little easier and get these pets started off on the right paw.

Deaf Dog Awareness Week is a good reminder that hearing loss in dogs can happen for a variety of reasons, and sometimes the signs aren’t immediately obvious. 🐾

Some signs your dog may be losing their hearing:
👂 Not responding when you call their name
👂 Sleeping through sounds that normally get their attention
👂 Not reacting to doorbells, toys, or other familiar noises
👂 Startling more easily when approached from behind
👂 Barking louder or differently than usual
👂 Seeming confused by verbal cues they previously knew

What can you do?
Regular veterinary exams can help catch changes in your dog’s hearing and overall health. Keeping ears clean and addressing ear infections or other ear problems promptly can also help protect their hearing.

And if your dog does become deaf, don’t panic! Hand signals, visual cues and gentle touch can help you communicate and keep them safe.

If you’ve noticed changes in the way your dog responds to sound, bring it up at their next visit. We’re happy to help you figure out what’s going on. ❤️🐶
