Teamwork makes the dream work! Happiest of 1st birthdays to LUMI! His guardian reached out with new updates on his progress:
"Thank you for connecting me and Lumi with Amanda for teeth-brushing training.
We have been practicing the technique every day since then and I am happy to report that now he is letting me use an actual tooth brush instead of a wipe.
I sit down with him once every day for "general maintenance” which includes hair brushing and teeth brushing, and I started introducing a tooth brush a couple of days ago.
I love that the technique is so versatile and I now use it before I do anything new-ish to him to get his consent. Thank you so much for another valuable lesson :-)
You might have already seen the pictures on Camp Cocker’s FB or Instagram, but Lumi celebrated his 1st birthday last Friday. I was not sure if he would agree to wear this silly birthday hat I had bought, but, after introducing the hat to him using the same technique, he wore the hat and the little tuxedo collar proudly and even devoured his birthday cake while wearing the hat."
Lumi is a blind Cocker Spaniel adopted from Camp Cocker Rescue and located in Arizona.
