🐾 Bruce is officially home after his 2-week Board & Train, and we're so happy to hear he's settling in beautifully!
One of Bruce's goals was building confidence in new environments and giving him opportunities to safely explore the world around him. But confidence doesn't come from pushing a dog to do something they're not ready for. It comes from listening, meeting them where they are, and being willing to pivot. ❤️
During one of our outings to Wet Nose, we happened to arrive during a fun event with lots of people, treats, toys, and activity. The store itself was comfortable and familiar to Bruce, but the party area was simply too much.
So we stayed where Bruce was comfortable and let him observe from a distance. The wonderful team at Wet Nose completely understood and even brought Bruce some treats and special meatballs. 🥰
Bruce still got an opportunity to experience something new. He just got to do it at a distance that felt safe for him.
And that's the important part: we don't build confidence by pushing dogs past their limits. We build it through choice, patience, empathy, and experiences that tell them, "We've got you."
A huge thank you to the team at Wet Nose for being so supportive of dogs who need a little extra space. Their Fear Free philosophy helps create exactly the kind of environment where dogs can learn that the world doesn't have to be overwhelming. 🐶💚
