ATTENTION HORSE OWNERS & TRANSPORTERS
New emergency rules are now in effect for moving animals into Florida due to recent detections of New World Screwworm (NWS) in Texas and New Mexico.
Before you load up the trailer, here is what you need to know to avoid fines, quarantines, or being turned away at the border:
✅ From Infested Zones: You now need a Florida Certificate of Animal Movement, a prior permission number (apply 2 days in advance), and a 5-day vet inspection (OCVI) proving NWS treatment.
✅ From High-Risk Areas: You must have a valid 5-day vet inspection (OCVI) proving your animal is completely pest and disease-free.
✅ Within Florida: No new changes - standard movement rules still apply!

Our Northeast Florida horse community lost an incredible man far too soon. We are all shocked, heartbroken, and struggling to process the sudden loss of our dear friend, Mark Chesser.

Mark was more than a farrier to so many of us. He was one of the kindest, sweetest, and most caring people we have ever had the privilege of knowing. Mark leaves his beautiful wife, children and mother behind. The Florida horse community has a lot of big hearts so please help us provide support for his family in their time of need. This weekend, we are honored to offer a special Silent Auction item: an Adult Amateur Summer Starter Package generously donated by Lucille and Bruce Markert.

All proceeds from this auction will be donated directly to the family of Mark Chesser following his recent and unexpected passing.

Mark was a trusted farrier, a friend to many, and a dedicated member of our local equestrian community. His work supported countless horses and horse owners over the years, many of which are exhibitors of ours, and his loss has left a profound void in the lives of those who knew him.

The horse community has always come together in times of need, and this is one of those moments.

We encourage everyone attending the Summer Block Party to stop by the Silent Auction and place a bid. Every dollar raised will go directly to supporting Mark’s family during this difficult time.

Hey everyone. It’s a sad day at the farm. Our farrier, Mark Chesser was killed in a horrific accident early this morning While out for a morning walk. Mark was a wonderful man and always there when we needed him. He leaves behind a beautiful family who could use our help. I am asking all barns that used his services to get in touch with me and partner with us to raise money for his family. Cash and check preferred but we can accept Venmo and PayPal as well.
