Miso has not had an easy start, and it shows

—but we know there’s a gentle, loving cat in there just waiting to feel safe enough to come out 💔🐾

Rescued from a backyard breeding situation where dozens of cats were kept without proper care, love, or dignity 😞 Miso is one of the many who came from that environment. When St. Johns County Animal Control and Small Lives Matter Kitten Rescue stepped in, they found cats who had been neglected and overwhelmed for far too long 🙏🐱 Miso is one of the more sensitive souls from that group, and he’s still trying to make sense of a world that hasn’t always been kind to him.

This beautiful Blue Point British Shorthair is understandably scared 💙 Human touch doesn’t feel safe yet, and he is especially fearful of men. His trust is fragile, and he tends to keep his distance—but that’s not the whole story.

We’re starting to see small, hopeful changes ✨ Miso has begun showing interest in playing, watching toys and slowly engaging in his own cautious way 🪶🐱 These little moments matter—they tell us he wants to come out of his shell, even if he’s not quite there yet.

Right now, the cat café environment is overwhelming for him. With all the activity, people, and noise, he retreats and tries to stay invisible 🙈 What he truly needs is a quiet, patient home where he can finally feel safe and start to relax 🏡🤍

Miso isn’t going to be an instant cuddle cat—but with time, patience, and understanding, we believe he will blossom 🌱 Cats like him don’t forget kindness once they learn to trust it 💞

If you have a calm home, a gentle approach, and a heart for the ones who need a little extra time, Miso is waiting 🐾💙

We have dozens of cats and kittens available! 🐱🐾

Yuki’s story begins in a place no cat should ever know 💔🐾

She came from a backyard breeding situation where dozens of cats were kept without proper care, love, or dignity 😞 When St. Johns County Animal Control stepped in, Yuki and so many others were finally given a chance at a different life — a life where they could be safe, seen, and cherished ✨ Small Lives Matter Kitten Rescue welcomed her and several others into care, where their healing journey could begin 🏡💕

When Yuki arrived, she was tired. Her once-soft coat was dull, her body burdened with fleas and ear mites, and her eyes hinted at the discomfort she had endured 😢 Like many of the rescued cats, she needed medical attention, patience, and compassion. And despite everything she had been through… she chose love 💖

Yuki is a beautiful mix of Scottish Fold and Russian Blue, born in March of 2020 🐱💙 with the most soulful eyes and a quiet, gentle presence. She may still look a little “shabby” right now as she recovers, but underneath it all is a truly stunning cat who is now blossoming into a very social kitty 🌸

She knows her friends are here — Miso, Vesper, and Kito 🐾 She has been going to their condos and talking to them, and they recognize her too! They rub up against one another, and it is truly amazing to watch 🥹💞

She adores attention — the kind she likely went without for far too long 🤍 Soft pets, kind voices, and simply being near her people mean everything to her. Yuki is sweet, affectionate, and deeply deserving of a home where she will never again be overlooked 🏡💕

This is more than an adoption. It’s a chance to change the ending of her story ✨

If you’ve ever dreamed of welcoming a cat like Yuki into your life, but didn’t want to support breeding, this is your moment 🐾 Yuki represents everything rescue stands for — resilience, hope, and unconditional love 💖

Vesper is the kind of cat people dream about—soft, stunning, and undeniably special ✨🐾

—but what makes him truly remarkable is how much love he still has to give 💙

Born in March 2020, this beautiful Blue Persian came from the same backyard breeding situation where dozens of cats were living without proper care, love, or dignity 💔 Thanks to St. Johns County Animal Control and Small Lives Matter Kitten Rescue, Vesper now has a second chance at the life he always deserved 🙏🐱

And unlike some of the others, Vesper has held onto his gentle, loving nature in the most incredible way 💫

He is a sweet, kind boy who genuinely enjoys people 🤍 He leans into affection, welcomes attention, and doesn’t carry the same level of fear that many of his friends from that situation do. While his past wasn’t kind, it hasn’t defined him—he’s chosen to stay open, trusting, and full of quiet affection 🥹

If you’ve ever dreamed of owning a purebred Persian, Vesper is that dream—but with a story that makes him even more special 🐾 He’s not just beautiful, he’s resilient 🌟

Vesper does well with people and brings a calm, loving presence wherever he goes 🏡 He’s the kind of cat who will happily keep you company, accept your affection, and remind you every day how meaningful rescue truly is 💕

He’s proof that even after a difficult start, some cats are still ready to love with their whole heart 💖

Kito has known a life of neglect — but her heart is still wide open 💔💕

Rescued from the same heartbreaking backyard breeding situation, where dozens of cats were deprived of proper care, Kito is now safe thanks to the tireless efforts of St. Johns County Animal Control and Small Lives Matter Kitten Rescue 🙏🐾 What she’s been through is difficult to imagine… yet somehow, she still chooses gentleness.

Kito is a Blue Point Himalayan born in March of 2021 with the most striking blue eyes 💙 — the kind that seem to quietly ask for love, safety, and reassurance. Beneath her somewhat shy nature is a deeply affectionate soul who also loves to play with feather toys 🪶🐱 We’re starting to see her bloom 🌸

When you sit quietly with her, Kito leans in… then gently pushes her head into your hand, asking for pets in the sweetest, softest way 🤍 It’s her way of saying she wants love — she just needs a moment to feel safe first. And recently, we’ve begun to hear it: a soft, gentle purr 🎶 A tiny, beautiful sound that feels like hope and a little spark of playfulness ✨

Right now, her coat tells part of her story. There’s a yellowish tint to her fur, a result of poor nutrition — something we often see in neglected color point cats. But this isn’t permanent 🌱 With proper care and good nutrition, her coat will transform over the coming weeks into the soft, snow-white beauty it was always meant to be ❄️ And just like her fur, Kito herself is in the process of becoming who she was always meant to be 💫

One thing is clear: the cat café environment is overwhelming for her. Surrounded by activity and other cats, Kito retreats inward. It’s not where she thrives. What she truly needs is a calm, loving home 🏡 — a quiet space where she can finally exhale, feel safe, and let her true personality shine.

You can already see it in her eyes 👀 In the way she leans into your hand. In that quiet little purr that’s just beginning to emerge 💞 … if you believe the quiet ones deserve a chance to blossom… and if you’ve ever dreamed of sharing your life with a purebred Himalayan but wanted to choose rescue instead — Kito is waiting for you 🐾💙

Puma is a quiet little success story in the making.

Born in March 2025, this beautiful Russian Blue came from the same heartbreaking backyard breeding situation, but you wouldn’t fully know it by the way she’s moving forward. Puma has been steadily finding her footing and is doing remarkably well as she adjusts to a safer, more loving world.

She’s curious about what’s around her and has started showing interest in getting out of her condo to explore. While she’s still taking things in at her own pace, there’s a confidence growing in her. She’s more on the outgoing side compared to some of the others, but still has that laid-back, thoughtful nature that makes her easy to be around.

Puma is a smart girl—you can see her watching, learning, and figuring everything out before she makes her move. It’s all very intentional with her, and it’s part of what makes her so special.

She has all the classic Russian Blue traits: gentle, observant, quietly affectionate, and deeply connected once she feels safe. There’s a softness to her, but also a quiet strength.

Puma is still young and already showing so much promise. With a little time and a loving home, she’s going to grow into an incredible companion. She’s truly a precious soul, just beginning to discover how good life can be.

We have dozens of cats and kittens available! All our adoptable cats are located at the Frisky Cat Cafe in St Augustine. 1092 Ponce De Leon Blvd (US 1). Visiting the cafe is a great way to find your perfect kitty. All of our cats and kittens are socialized and happy to interact with visitors, so you will meet them with their true personalities.

🎗️🐾 Cat Cancer Awareness Month 🐾🎗️
When a beloved cat is diagnosed with cancer, the hardest question often follows:
“What is the right decision for my cat?” 💛

There is no one-size-fits-all answer — only the one that puts your cat’s comfort, dignity, and quality of life first. 🩺✨

💛 Things to consider when making this decision:
• Is my cat still eating, grooming, and showing interest in life?
• Are they in pain that can’t be controlled?
• Are good days starting to be outnumbered by bad days?
• What are my vet’s recommendations for comfort or treatment?
• What would bring my cat the most peace?

Sometimes the right decision is treatment.
Sometimes the right decision is comfort care.💔🐾

Whatever choice you face, remember: Love guides it.
Your cat has felt that love every day of their life — and that is what matters most. 💛

The Fruit Loop Mama and babies are heading to the clinic today for their surgeries. They will return to their foster grandma late tomorrow afternoon for 2 days of a little recovery and rest and then they will join all the other precious kitties at the Frisky Cat Cafe. Their foster feels confident they will make THE BEST companion kitties. Each one has a distinct personality but all of them are sweet, playful and affectionate. This is what their foster has to say about her experience, “I am grateful for the lots of visitors, big and small, who have helped me love on and socialize them. It has been quite the experience, one I won’t forget and will treasure!”
If you’re interested in adopting these sweet babies or Mama Peach, please visit the Frisky Cat Cafe to meet them and fill out an application.
