The local veterinarians of Antigua Veterinary Practice proudly serve pet parents in St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra Beach, Jacksonville, Palm Coast, Elkton and the surrounding area. Our veterinarians have over 60 years of combined experience and deliver state-of-the-art veterinary medicine in a comfortable home-like setting. Our services include wellness exams, sick visits, vaccinations, microchipping,

x-ray, an in-house laboratory, surgery including spay and neuter, parasite control, pet dental, pain management, and more. We are open six days a week and look forward to meeting you and your pet!

Take a few minutes today to make sure your pet has everything they may need if a storm comes our way. A little planning now could mean a lot less stress later!

🐾 Make sure to keep your address and phone number up to date if your pet is microchipped and consider getting them chipped if they are not already!
🐾 Many public shelters and hotels do not allow pets inside, know a safe place where you can take your pets
🐾 Keep several days of food and water as well as any extra medication your pet may need
🐾 Include a litter box with cat litter for our feline friends
🐾 Bring your pets favorite toys, treats and bedding to help reduce stress

Staying prepared helps both you & your pets weather the season safely! 🐶🐱

Fun Fact Friday!

Meet our sweet patient Toby! (Previously known as Clementine)
Yes… you heard that right, Toby the tortoiseshell is a male!!
Did you know that about 1 in 3,000 tortoiseshell cats are male, making them extremely uncommon! Two X chromosomes are needed to produce the traditional black, orange and yellow colors of a tortie, which is why they are usually females. Male cats carry one X and one Y chromosome whereas male tortoiseshell cats have an extra X chromosome, making them XXY. (Super rare!!!) Since this is considered a genetic anomaly, the male torties are usually sterile but they tend to live long, normal lives! Comment if you know a male tortie!
