🚨🐾 URGENT: FOSTER FAMILIES NEEDED! 🐾🚨
YOU DON’T HAVE TO ADOPT TO SAVE A LIFE. YOU JUST HAVE TO OPEN YOUR DOOR. ❤️
Every day, we’re contacted about cats and dogs who desperately need somewhere to go. Some have been abandoned, some have been surrendered by their owners, and others are sitting in overcrowded shelters with nowhere else to turn. We wish we could help every single one of them, but unfortunately, that’s just not possible without more foster homes.
And that’s where we really need your help.
One of the hardest parts of rescue is knowing there’s an animal out there who needs us and having to say no simply because we don’t have anywhere for them to go. It’s heartbreaking, especially when you know that having just one more available foster home could make all the difference.
📊 To put things into perspective:
🐱🐶 Millions of cats and dogs enter animal shelters across the United States every year.
💔 Hundreds of thousands of shelter animals are euthanized annually, and overcrowding continues to be a major problem for shelters and rescues across the country.
🏡 Foster homes help take some of that pressure off shelters while giving animals a safe, comfortable place to stay until they find their forever families.
The more foster homes we have, the more animals we’re able to help. It’s really that simple.
🐱 We’re especially in need of people willing to foster cats and kittens!
One thing we hear pretty often is that people don’t think they have enough space to foster. But you might be surprised to learn that you don’t need a huge house to help a cat or kitten! In many cases, a spare bedroom, bathroom, or another quiet, secure space is all that’s needed.
Whether it’s a litter of kittens who need somewhere safe to grow, an adult cat waiting for a family, or a shy kitty who needs a little extra time and patience, having a foster home makes such a difference.
And yes, you can potentially foster even if you already have pets of your own!
🐾 SO, WHAT DOES FOSTERING ACTUALLY INVOLVE?
We know that taking in an animal, even temporarily, is a big decision. There are a lot of things to consider, and we completely understand that people have questions!
Here are a few things we want potential fosters to know:
💰 Worried about the expense? Ayla’s Acres provides the necessities, including food, supplies, and veterinary care. You provide a safe home and lots of love!
🐈🐕🦺 Already have pets? That’s perfectly fine! We do our best to match animals with foster homes that are appropriate for everyone involved, including your own pets.
🏡 Never fostered before? That’s okay too! You don’t need years of experience to become a foster. Everyone has to start somewhere, and we’re happy to help you along the way.
📅 Not sure about the commitment? We understand that everyone has different schedules and circumstances. We’ll discuss the needs of each animal and what’s expected before placing them in your home.
❤️ Worried you’ll get too attached? This is probably one of the biggest reasons people hesitate to foster, and we get it! It’s not always easy saying goodbye to an animal you’ve grown to love. But there’s also something really special about watching that animal go off to a wonderful forever home, knowing you played such an important part in getting them there.
You don’t have to be an animal’s forever family to make a lifelong difference in their story. ❤️
Whether you’re retired, work from home, already have pets, or simply have a little extra space and love to give, we’d really love for you to consider fostering with us.

📣 AND IF YOU CAN’T FOSTER, PLEASE SHARE THIS POST!
We know fostering isn’t possible for everyone, and that’s okay! But maybe you have a friend, family member, coworker, or neighbor who has been thinking about it. Sometimes all it takes is getting the right post in front of the right person.
We have so many animals we’d love to help, and it’s incredibly frustrating knowing that the only thing standing in the way is having somewhere safe for them to go.
We urgently need more foster families, and we can’t do this without our community. Every new foster home gives us the opportunity to say yes to another animal who needs us. ❤️🐾
