As we welcome the cooler months, it’s almost that time of year again for everyone to start asking the same question - how can I maintain a longer length coat on my pup?

Well, we have a few answers.

While having the right tools (slicker brush, or a metal comb) for the job is a good start - brushing does ultimately cause breakage and breakage leads to matting. The more often you brush, and the more knots you brush out each time, the more breakage.

So what do we recommend instead?

The best thing to do for your pup's overall coat health is to move up their bath and blow-dry schedule! Trust us when we say we absolutely HATE having to shave anyone down in the colder months. A little extra maintenance goes such a long way!
