Today is National Pet Disaster Preparedness Day!
As we were going over "registry" items for our upcoming Kitten Shower, it came to our attention that today is National Pet Disaster Preparedness Day! Which means it is a great day to take inventory that we all have everything we might need to keep our pets safe and near in the event of an emergency.
Having a kennel/ carrier available per pet, as well as a proper leash or harness are just a couple of the ways to make sure we are prepared. (If you find you need these, we do have many of each available and currently are BOGO free)

We hope you are having a wonderful day and getting to enjoy a bit of this lovely day!

Today we wanted to introduce you to MOE!

Moe is a handsome boy of just over 12 years, who has been here at FCAR for just over 2 weeks. If you are looking for a best friend in cat form, it might just be Moe!
He is an incredibly friendly boy who loves making new human friends! And it doesn't take long to see that he has LOTS of love to give! Moe is happy to give head butts, nose touches, rub against you, and take all of the pets you want to give! He is an incredibly affectionate boy, and also is a bit curious about his surroundings and can be quite chatty when he thinks you're doing something that doesn't involve him! He'll be a wonderful constant companion for his special human.

Until that human finds him, he is here with our other friends on the Cat Walk eagerly waiting to start his "second act"! If you think Moe might be the purrfect boy for you, we encourage you to apply today! If you would like to meet Moe and see our other feline friends, we also welcome you to stop by any time during our open hours (Tue-Fri 4-6pm/ Sat 11am-5pm).

Not only are you providing a loving home to an animal in need, and enriching your own life as well, but you are also opening a spot for another animal to come in and begin their journey to their furrever home!
AND when you adopt a pet from us- like 12-year-old Moe here who came in last month and is waiting for his special human(s) to find him and bring him home to begin his - these things are always true...

This is a 50/50 style raffle, with 50% of the proceeds going to the person who guesses the correct date and 50% going to FCAR! If we fill all of the available dates- that's such good take home prize! 🤩

You can stop in to see us here at Franklin County Animal Rescue at 30 Sunset Meadow during open hours, or VENMO using the instructions below then email [email protected] with proof of payment (along with your requested dates if they don’t show on the proof of payment.)

*send appropriate amount via Venmo to or use the QR code with a cat emoji and your first choice of date(s), our goal is always to keep the calendar up-to-date, however this is updated manually by staff during open hours, so dates will be assigned on a first come/first serve basis should more than one person choose the same date. If there is any issue or the date is taken we will reach out in response to your email to ask for a new date (you can also provide backup dates in your original email if you prefer).

Haven't been down in a while? Well let us just say, most anything you are looking for for your cat or dog you can probably find here! We have all size, and many styles of beds. Clothing, leashes, harnesses, bowls, feeders, toys, supplements, treats, litter boxes, kennels, carriers, scratching posts...and MORE if you believe it!!!!
EVERYTHING is currently Buy 1, Get 1 FREE (of equal or lesser value) as well!

😻And if you are looking for a goody bag or basket as a way to spoil them for National Pet Week, or any time in May (National Pet Month)... we have those too (pre-made bundles not included in BOGO promo)!

For this week's we are wishing for a couple things to assist in our outdoor projects! We would love some natural mulch and gardening tools (mainly a garden spade and hand rake/ cultivator)!
