Fall in love with your life. Again and again and again. 🍂🤎

With the quiet mornings, the changing seasons, the trails you haven’t explored, the friends who join you, and the dogs who remind you that every adventure is worth getting excited about.

Today was 2.7 miles of fresh air, sunshine, beautiful fall colors, and good company with Ringo, Lin, and Lucy. 🐾

Nothing extravagant. Nothing particularly planned. Just an ordinary Sunday spent doing things that make life feel pretty extraordinary.

And maybe that’s the secret to a happy life. Not waiting for the big moments, but learning to appreciate all the little ones along the way.

Get outside. Move your body. Bring your dog. Make the memories. 🌿

🍓🤍 Gratitude lately: It’s the little things.
The older I get, the more I realize that happiness isn’t always found in big accomplishments or exciting milestones. Sometimes it’s simply recognizing how much goodness already exists in an ordinary day.
🐾 Watching the dogs play, explore, and enjoy life without a care in the world.
❤️ Quiet moments on the couch with the pack, where there’s nowhere else I need to be.
🥗 A homemade meal that makes me feel good and reminds me that taking care of myself is something worth celebrating.
🌿 Adventures and everyday moments with Ringo.
😂 And a new cordless shop vac from Dad, because apparently practical gifts are becoming my love language.
None of these moments are extraordinary on their own, but together, they’re the little pieces of a life I’m grateful to be building.
The dogs remind me every day that joy doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes we just need to slow down long enough to notice it.
A little reminder: Don’t get so caught up in creating the life you want that you forget to appreciate the life you’re living. 🤍
What little thing are you grateful for today?

🐾💚 Life’s too short not to chase what makes you happy! 🐕💨

A little reminder from the pack: Every moment is an opportunity to chase something good!

Whether it’s a goal you’re working toward, a new adventure, or simply something that makes you smile. ☀️

Find your joy, chase it enthusiastically, and don’t forget to have fun along the way! 🌿✨

Now go make it a good one! 🤍

🍓🐾 Have a reactive dog? You can start training TODAY without ever leaving your house!

One of the biggest misconceptions about working with reactive dogs is that you have to put them in challenging situations to make progress.

But some of the most valuable training happens long before you encounter a trigger!

Teaching your dog to check in, respond to familiar cues, follow your movement, and redirect their attention gives you tools to use when the real world gets overwhelming.

And don’t forget about YOUR practice! 🧠

Visualize those challenging moments. Think about how you’ll respond, where you’ll move, and how you’ll help your dog succeed.

The goal isn’t to eliminate every reaction overnight. It’s to build communication, confidence, and better habits through consistent practice.

❤️ Remember: Every successful repetition is a step toward progress.

Start small. Keep it fun. Celebrate the little wins.

Eventually, you can take those skills into more challenging environments, working at a pace your dog can comfortably handle.

🐾 Which of these five exercises will you practice with your dog today?

🍓 Weekend Highlights | More Than Ribbons 🏆🐾

The older I get, the more I realize the best part of competing isn’t winning. It’s getting to do something I love with the dogs I love. ❤️

Four dogs. Two UKC Rally trials. Almost no warm-ups. 😂

We walked away with 7 qualifying runs, 3 perfect scores, 2 High in Trial awards, 2 first places, 1 second place, and a new RO1 title!

🏆 Joker earned his RO1 title, a perfect 100, and High in Trial! Watching his confidence grow has been incredible.

🐻 Yogi, my 10-year-old veteran, earned TWO perfect 100s and High in Trial! I considered retiring him, but he reminded me we’re not done making memories. ❤️

🌸 Willow made her UKC debut! After an overwhelming first run, she came back focused and earned a beautiful 97!

🐾 Oakley also debuted! First dog in the ring, barely a warm-up, and she earned a 96 followed by another qualifying run!

But my biggest takeaway?

The goal isn’t perfection. It’s connection.

When I first started competing, I worried about mistakes, forgetting courses, and what others thought.

Now?

Our dogs act like goofballs? We laugh.
We make mistakes? We learn.
We don’t qualify? We try again.

Our dogs don’t care about ribbons, scores, or titles. They’re there because we asked them to be. We owe it to them to make the experience worth enjoying. ❤️

That’s the heart of Strawberry Fields Dog Company.

Dog training isn’t about perfection. It’s about building confidence, communication, trust, and relationships that allow us to experience more of life together.

And those lessons apply to our own lives, too. 🌿

Be present. Find joy in the process. Build confidence through experience. Give yourself permission to make mistakes.

Have big goals. Work hard. Laugh when things go sideways. And don’t forget to enjoy the life you’re working so hard to build.

Because someday, these are the moments we’ll wish we could do all over again. ❤️

🍓 Building better relationships, one adventure at a time.

🌿🤍 Gratitude lately: Building a life I love, one ordinary day at a time. 🐾

Something I’ve been reflecting on lately is that happiness isn’t something we find once we accomplish all our goals. It’s something we intentionally create along the way.

And I’ve been asking myself: What makes me feel most like myself?

🐾 Dogs, muddy paws, training adventures, and quiet moments together.

💪 Movement, challenging myself, and discovering what I’m capable of.

🥗 Nourishing my body and building habits that make me feel good.

🌲 Fresh air, fall colors, peaceful trails, and new adventures.

🤍 Meaningful friendships, laughter, and surrounding myself with people who encourage growth.

✨ And learning to laugh, reflect, reset, and keep going when life gets messy.

Because consistency isn’t about never getting knocked off course. It’s about creating a life you love enough to keep coming back to.

Gratitude isn’t pretending everything is perfect. It’s recognizing how much good exists in the ordinary moments. 🌿

Here’s to more dogs, adventures, movement, friendship, laughter, and a life worth being present for. 💚

What’s one thing that makes you feel most like yourself?

Another week of wagging tails, happy paws, and making memories at Strawberry Fields Dog Company! 🍓🐾

The fall weather has been showing off, and our pack has been soaking up every minute of it! 🍁

Confidence is built, not given. 🐾🌱

One of my favorite things about dog training is how many lessons apply to our own lives.

When I’m helping a dog build confidence, I don’t start by throwing them into the most challenging situation possible.

I start small.

I create opportunities for success. I reward effort. I gradually increase difficulty, and I celebrate progress along the way.

And I’ve realized we’re really not that different.

If you want to build confidence in yourself, start by keeping small promises.

Choose goals you can realistically achieve. Show up consistently. Celebrate the little victories, and don’t forget to reward yourself, too! 😂

Every successful experience is another reason to believe in yourself.

Confidence isn’t built by waiting until you’re ready. It’s built by showing up and proving to yourself that you can.

And whether you’re working with your dog or working on yourself, remember:

🌱 Start small.
💚 Celebrate progress.
🐾 Keep showing up.

🍓🐾 WEEKEND HIGHLIGHTS | Grand Ledge, MI

Sometimes the biggest wins have nothing to do with ribbons and everything to do with showing up, trying something new, and growing along the way. ❤️

Saturday, we packed up the Jeep and headed to Grand Ledge for a UKC Nosework trial! Our first time at this location, and what a wonderful experience! Great people, a beautiful facility, and lots of happy dogs! 🐾

🏆 Tuco competed in Exteriors and earned two qualifying runs! I’m especially proud of him for stepping into an unfamiliar environment and showing up ready to work!

🐾 Yogi tackled Interiors for the very first time! We didn’t qualify, but he gave me 110%. He was happy, enthusiastic, and genuinely trying to figure out what I was asking. That’s a win in my book! ❤️

🌸 Willow & Oakley joined the adventure to practice focus, confidence, and exposure to new sights, sounds, smells, people, and dogs. They loved every minute!

✨ And that’s what I love about dog training. It teaches us so much about life.

Not every experience ends with a ribbon. Sometimes we succeed, sometimes we struggle, and sometimes we’re simply learning to navigate something unfamiliar.

The same is true when we’re building healthier habits, chasing goals, or stepping outside our comfort zones.

Confidence is built through experience, not perfection. 🌱

Keep showing up. Stay curious. Celebrate the little victories. And most importantly, enjoy the journey.

Another weekend of memories, lessons, and adventures with my favorite four-legged teammates. 🍓❤️

🍓 A little gratitude goes a long way. 🍂

Sometimes happiness isn’t found in the big milestones, but in the little moments that remind us just how beautiful life really is. ❤️

This week’s reminders of how much there is to be grateful for:

🐾 A weekend spent doing what I love, competing in UKC Nosework with Yogi, Tuco, Oakley, and Willow.

🐶 Knowing the crew at home was in good hands while we were away making memories.

🍎 Fresh apples shared through family connections and friendships that have lasted for decades.

🍁 The beautiful fall colors reminding me to slow down and appreciate the season we’re in.

🧘‍♀️ A little yoga with Yogi, because sometimes the best moments are the simplest ones.

🧁 Homemade zucchini nut muffins and sweet treats made with love by Jane and Lin.

The older I get, the more I realize that a fulfilling life isn’t about constantly chasing the next big thing. It’s about learning to recognize how much goodness already surrounds us.

The dogs remind me of that every single day. They don’t need a special occasion to be happy. A walk, a familiar face, a little attention, or simply being together is enough.

Maybe that’s one of the greatest lessons they teach us: don’t get so caught up in what’s next that you forget to enjoy what’s now. 🐾❤️

Here’s to another week of finding joy in the ordinary, appreciating the people who make life sweeter, and remembering that there’s always something to be grateful for. 🍓

✨ What’s one little thing you’re grateful for this week?
