Royal Canin is implementing an ingredient change from dried chicory root to dried plain beet pulp.

Starting in July, this change will gradually roll into market as current inventory is depleted throughout the rest of the year.

If your pet is on one of the diets below, please watch out for label change and try to plan from a gradual transition from the old formula to the new formula to help prevent GI upset. Call the office if you need help with a diet transition plan.

Please do not underestimate how much smokey conditions affect your pets. Please keep them indoors as much as possible. Consider stopping walks for now, even when cooler in the morning and evenings as there is still smoke in the air. Monitor closely for signs of respiratory distress.

Smoke from wildfires and other large blazes affects pets, horses, livestock and wildlife. Protect your pets and livestock.

***HEAT ADVISORY for Michigan TODAY***

Keep pets indoor as much as possible except for short, supervised trips outside to relieve themselves.

If you have outdoor pets, please bring in for the day. If not able to bring in, ensure plenty of shade and water.

Monitor pets closely for signs of heat exhaustion or heat stroke.

Stay safe and cool.

Overview Heatstroke is a life-threatening condition that occurs when the body’s temperature rises too high and cannot be cooled effectively. This can cause severe damage to body organs and can result in death.

Keep your pets indoors as much as possible this week. Heat stroke can happen quickly. Short faced dogs and pets with heart or lung disease are at greater risks for heat related emergencies.
