September 25, 2025 2:14 p.m. - We just got a wave of T-shirt sales spam comments in many of our posts. I identified and blocked the spam accounts, and removed a number of the spam comments they made promoting their shirts. I noticed they repeatedly tagged many classmates, meaning that notifications got launched your way. If this problem continues we may consider shutting down this page (which is open to the public) or trying to convert it into a Facebook Group for more privacy control. - Kerry Shearer, Class of 1972.

I've noticed T-shirt sellers who periodically spam this page offering supposed Encina Alumni shirts. Do not buy from them. I block them and delete the post when I am aware of any such post, and you can report them as spammers as well

A note for classes that have reunions coming up. A strategy we used last year for the Class of '72 Reunion was to set up a private Facebook Group, then get everyone you can find from your class into the Group.

It was a great way to connect, and there's a much better chance of members seeing all the posts (vs. a Page, which doesn't have much reach).

Our Group is still alive and well and we continue to connect on it.

Okay, classmates...it's May 7th already as we post this, and the May 15, 2022 Early Bird Deadline for the $55 per person rate for our June 18th Encina Class of 1972 50th High School Reunion is almost here!

After that date, and until June 10, 2022, the rate will be $65 per person.

We have had a great response already!

Here are the main event details for our exciting Class of 1972 50th High School Reunion on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at:

Lake Natoma Inn
702 Gold Lake Drive
Folsom, CA 95630

It will take place in The Sutter Room from 6 pm to 11 pm.

The evening will include Mediterranean Buffet dinner and one drink per person (wine or beer). Additional drinks can be purchased at “no host” premium bar.

Dinner Buffet Includes:

Classic Ceasar Salad with Romaine Lettuce, Shaved Parmesan Cheese and Garlic Croutons with Creamy Ceasar Dressing
Italian Orzo Salad with Sun Dried Tomato Dressing
Balsamic Grilled Vegetables, Rosemary Roasted Potatoes
Penne Pasta with Olive Oil, Basil, Garlic, Sun Dried Tomatoes and Pine Nuts
Tuscan Chicken with Artichoke Hearts, Kalamata Olives and Roasted Garlic

Early Bird Rate (between April 1, 2022 and May 15, 2022) is $55.00 per person.

After that date, the price per person will be $65.00.

Last date to buy tickets is June 10, 2022.

Since this is a catered event, we will not be able to accept “walk-ins” at the door.

January 12, 2022 -- CLASS OF 1972 50th ANNIVERSARY REUNION UPDATE

We've got some more information about the reunion for you! If you're on our email list, you received this today. If you're not on our list, here's the latest 50th Reunion Update on the Class of '72 event happening in just six months!

We'd love for Class of 1972 alums to connect with our email list to receive future updates. Just email Susan Schwartz Blum at [email protected] and ask her to add you to the email list!

There’s less than 6 months to go until our landmark 50th Class Reunion on June 18. 2022! We’ve reserved the reunion venue at the beautiful Lake Natoma Inn in Folsom, and we’re beginning to place deposits.

What’s next? Well, right now we’re asking you to consider becoming a 50th Reunion Patron if you are financially able.

Your donation of $50, $75, $100 or $250 will not only help us pay for deposits and other costs associated with the reunion, it will help reduce the amount of the per-person charge for the June 18th event. 50th Reunion Patrons will be of significant help in ensuring a fantastic, memorable event for all classmates to attend.

Becoming a Patron is an opportunity for you to honor, in a meaningful way, the classmates, teachers and experiences that had a significant impact on you during your high school years.

Note that your donation is over and above the cost to attend the event and does not provide a ticket to the event. 50th Reunion Patrons, like all classmates, will purchase tickets to the reunion at the lowest possible event price when they are released in the next few months. Ticket pricing won't be known until 50th Reunion Patron donations are received, and all event costs are confirmed with the venue. We are aiming for a $40-$60 price range per ticket per person.

A memorial service for classmate Charlie Templeton (Class of ‘72) is set for tomorrow, December 4, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at East Lawn Sierra Hills, followed by a celebration in Folsom at the Moose Lodge. Charlie died November 22, 2021 at the age of 67 after being hospitalized. So sad; we will miss him! Please note that RSVPs are being requested at (916) 417-9642.

Gard Shepard Garden and Arts Center at McKinley Park, Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 6:00PM to 10:00PM.

There will be a hosted bar and Hors d’oeuvres will be served.

This summer, the Encina High School Booster Club will have a TNT fireworks stand to raise money for our academic and athletic programs. The stand will be located at 630 Watt Ave, near Starbucks, and will be open from June 28th to July 4th, from 9am to 10pm (June 28th: 12pm-10pm).
