This Disaster Preparedness Month, sign up to earn the skills necessary to support animal and public health during a disaster! The California Veterinary Medical Reserve Corps (CAVMRC) is offering a low-cost online training for veterinarians, RVTs, and veterinary assistants on November 3, 2024 entitled Animals in Disasters – Common Medical Conditions. This course will offer up to 7 CEUs and will address emergency/critical care topics.

The California Veterinary Medical Reserve Corps (CAVMRC) continues to assist UC Davis’ California Veterinary Emergency Team - CVET in caring for animals affected by the Park Fire. Volunteers are currently stationed in Oroville, California treating companion animals, horses, and livestock.

Made up of over 2,700 volunteers, the California Veterinary Medical Reserve Corps (CAVMRC) provides emergency veterinary medical care to animals during disasters. As part of its mission to train veterinary professionals to support animal health emergency response, the CAVMRC is offering a low-cost online training on November 5. The course, “Animals in Disasters – Common Medical Conditions,” provides 7.5 CEUs and will cover topics like burn management, zoonotic disease considerations, large animal disaster response, and deployment in the CAVMRC.
