A structural collapse at a New Jersey animal shelter during the night left 32 dogs suddenly without secure kennels and triggered an immediate plea for foster homes. Snow sliding from a nearby building caused the roof to give way, forcing staff to evacuate the dogs without warning. Although several were placed with foster families, others remain in need as the shelter continues rescuing strays and depends on temporary homes while repairs are underway.
