When a veterinary emergency strikes, no family should face the fear of losing their best friend. RedRover.org/Lifeline 🐾❤🩺

Scout is an anxiety therapy dog for her human sibling. When she accidentally swallowed an object, her parent — a single mother — spent her last savings on vet tests, sharing: “She has been my lifeline… my family needs their best friend back.”

Thanks to compassionate supporters, a RedRover Relief Urgent Care grant covered Scout’s surgery! Today, Scout is safe, healed, and back home.

Right now, another family is filling out an application for help. We are raising $10,000 this month to help 34 more pets get urgent care.

Looking back at our 2025 deployment to Maryland with Humane World for Animals — a powerful reminder of what compassion in action looks like. ❤🐶

When more than 100 dogs and litters of puppies were rescued from a severe neglect situation, our dedicated RedRover Responders volunteers immediately answered the call. They stepped onto the ground to deliver round-the-clock care, fresh food, clean bedding, enrichment, and the gentle human touch these sweet Havanese dogs needed to begin healing.

From clearing overcrowded wire cages to preparing daily treats and offering patience as scared pups learned to trust, our team brought comfort and hope to every single animal.

Thank you to our selfless volunteers and supportive community for making emergency deployments like this possible. Every step toward recovery begins with kindness! 🐾✨

To commemorate 40 years of bringing animals from crisis to care, we are partnering with local Sacramento artist Erica Thomas to paint a vibrant new mural on the exterior wall of RedRover headquarters! This artwork will honor the human-animal bond we protect every day – and your pet could be a part of it.

There are 15 exclusive spots available to feature artwork inspired by our supporters' pets! Make a gift of $1,500 or more between now and December 31, 2026, to have your pet’s likeness painted into our mural. In the event we receive more than 15 qualifying donations, we will select 15 names at random from the list of donations on January 15, 2027.

Every dollar raised helps fuel our lifesaving mission as we step into our next 40 years.

Today is Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day. 🌈🐾

Losing an animal you love is never easy. Whether a pet passes away from old age, gets lost, or finds a new home when circumstances change, the grief of losing a furry, feathered, or scaly family member is very real — especially for children.

In our September/October 2022 issue, we shared helpful guidance on "How to Heal" when navigating pet loss:

• Share your feelings: Spend time with family or friends who understand your love for your pet.
• Take care of yourself: Rest, take a walk, or do things that bring you comfort.
• Honor their memory: Keep something of your pet’s in a special place, write in a journal, or create a photo album.
• Celebrate the good times: When you are ready, talk about your pet and share the happy memories you made together.

While the sharp pain of loss fades with time, the best memories and the love you shared will stay in your heart forever. 💛
