This National Veterinary Technician Week, we're celebrating the incredible Associates who make our hospitals thrive — like Karen, who began as a CSR and never stopped growing and like Joanne, who sought mentorship and support to obtain her VTNE.

At VCA, we're proud to champion our veterinary technicians every step of the way — offering mentorship, encouragement, and the resources to help you reach your full potential.

To every vet tech in our VCA family: thank you. What you do matters deeply — to our teams, to our patients, and to the pet owners who trust us with their most beloved companions.

Every surgery starts long before the first incision. It starts with a veterinary technician who has spent years mastering their skills, anticipating needs, monitoring vitals, and showing up fully prepared for every patient who comes through the door.

Vet techs are the heart of every OR team, and their skill and dedication make a difference every single day. At some VCA specialty hospitals, we take surgical collaboration even further. Some of our teams include Certified Surgical Technologists (CSTs) — professionals who earned specialized degrees specifically to support surgeons in the OR.

The result? Less time under anesthesia. Better outcomes. And a team that truly works as one. 💙

Because every patient is somebody's pet — and they deserve nothing less than the best.

Meet Bodhi: The Adventurous Pup Who Overcame a Scary Emergency!

Bodhi, a lively 7-year-old pup, loves exploring and sometimes gets into a bit of mischief. Recently, his curiosity got him into trouble when he swallowed a corn cob—an indigestible object that can cause dangerous blockages in a dog’s digestive system.

After vomiting and showing signs of discomfort, Bodhi came to us on emergency. Examination, radiographs, and ultrasound revealed the blockage, and surgery was the only option. Thanks to the skilled veterinary team, the corn cob was successfully removed, and Bodhi made a smooth recovery.

This experience highlights how quickly accidents can happen and why being prepared is so important. Fortunately, Bodhi’s family had pet insurance, which eased the financial stress of his care and ensured he got the treatment he needed right away.

Bodhi’s story is a great reminder to keep potentially harmful items out of reach and consider the peace of mind pet insurance offers during unexpected emergencies.

Stay safe, Bodhi—and keep exploring (responsibly)!

At our hospital, we welcome all celebrations from around the world. One day that is especially dear to our hearts is Día de los Mu***os. This day is significant to us as we celebrate those we have lost too soon, reminding us of the happy times we shared with them. We all experience so much sadness in this world, and this celebration allows us to spread a bit of love 💗.
We encouraged our coworkers to display photos of their fur kids and invited our clients to write the names of their loved ones on wooden ornaments to be displayed on our Ofrenda. Thank you to our hospital coworkers for helping us put this together and to our fun committee for bringing this idea to life! We hope to continue this tradition for years to come!
