🌈 Heavenly Lemon 🍋 here to apologize on behalf of the moms for going dark on the socials for so long. They, like many humans (and dogs), had to take some time to stop and smell the flowers. Life sometimes feels like a lot, especially when you have so many things depending on you, so it’s important to recognize that challenge and stop to put your own oxygen mask on first before you can help others.

We do hope to be back in the new year sharing more of our lives and precious moments with you and we so appreciate you sticking around. To all of those who have noticed our absence and reached out, thank you 🙏 To those who have continued to donate, there’s a special place waiting for you.

Courtesy post for our amazing vet team: are you looking for a kitten!?! Then check out this darling little lady saved - along with her mother and siblings - by some good Samaritans. She’s 15 weeks old, FELV/FIV negative, spayed and only needing her last booster shots. She’s located in Folsom and for anyone interested, we will cover the cost of her booster shots to help get her into a loving home! Feel free to reach out if you think this baby was made for you and we can connect you with her foster mom ❤️

A little throw back to the Queen pug, the OG vintage land CEO, the smallest pup with the biggest personality. The best of the best - Lemon!! Featured here in a pile of wishlist donations because we want to send a massive thank you to all our beloved supporters who have sent items from our wishlist recently. Amazon doesn’t always provide a tag that tells us who sent the donation (and Chewy gives us no hint at all) but we could not do what we do without these precious gifts from you all. Thank you to Jennifer Mattesich, Joyce Medari and Yuriy Andamasov, amongst several other mystery donors, for the helpful supplies to keep the babies clean, well fed, healthy, comfortable and loved ❤️❤️❤️

Some sad news to share today - little Muffin cat, rescued in March from a local shelter where she was matted to the point she could not walk, with an oozing and shrunken eye, extremely painful dental disease, and completely emaciated - was discovered to have extremely aggressive oral cancer. We spent weeks caring for her, removing mats, getting her body condition up, taking her for exams and blood work and ultrasounds to get her to the point where she could have her teeth and eye addressed safely. We finally got her to that point, but once under anesthesia her surgeon found a mass at the back of her throat and radiographs revealed it was invading the jaw, her skull and had no hope for treatment or removal. Due to the amount of spread and how painful the bleeding mass at the back of her throat looked, we made the decision to allow her to pass peacefully under anesthesia. While this is a sad outcome for a sweet cat who had already been through so much, we are so glad she got to spend several weeks with us where her pain was under control, where she was warm, loved, clean and well fed. Muffin was an amazing creature and we came to love her so quickly. It has been heartbreaking to let her go but we are glad she had the best care for her final chapter. ❤️❤️❤️

Time flies when you’re a sassy, one-eyed pug with a unique color and an even more unique personality. Lady Bug 🐞 has been with us for 3 years!!! And despite not knowing her birthday, we do know that at some point in the year she will be 15 years old. Physical therapy, good care, gentle exercise and laser therapy have done wonders for her troublesome rear legs and she honestly doesn’t look a day over 8 (maybe with a little extra silver in her cute face, but hey - we’ve seeing a little more grey in our fur too these days 😆)

The fuzzies (aka the pals here in Vintage Land when we say “Vintage pugs and pals”) enjoy outside play time zero percent. No stars. Would not recommend. Not pictured? All the pugs who are happily lounging in the sun, resting on the back of the couch, peeing on things, eating leaves and digging holes. You know, fun dog things 🤣

Even younger dogs can need quite a lot of help when they come from neglect. The two young pugs we rescued recently had never had any kind of vetting. They’re wonderfully happy in their new home with their amazing new dad, but it was a long road to deal with the health issues that come from never having a proper diet, clean living space, vaccines or check ups at the vet. Thanks to our grant funds we were able to make sure they had the best veterinary care possible to set them up for a lifetime of success in their new loving home. Happy Adoption to Porter and Potato ❤️❤️❤️

We have been so lucky the first half of this year - we were one of the recipients of the Marion & Richard Graham Foundation 2025 Established Organization grants. This means we have been able to buckle down and focus hard on getting many of the seniors in our care in for routine (but costly) procedures like dentals and lump checks. We have been able to take on short term hospice cases with dire prognosis and give high quality palliative care. And we’ve been able to assist with transport and vetting for our local shelters. Rescue is costly - often the ability to say “yes” comes down to what’s in the bank account. Thanks to this grant we have been brimming with yes and able to help in so many ways ❤️

They might not be seniors, but Potato and Porter needed our help. These 1.5 year old brothers have been living in a backyard….and that’s about the extent of the life they’ve experienced. Within a week of becoming Vintage Pugs they have already had full medical work ups, will be getting their neuters and dentals next week, are vaccinated and living indoors! Like the family members they are meant to be. And they’re so sweet, so gentle and so smart! Housebreaking with their foster mom is going exceptionally well and the feedback from everyone they meet seems to be the same - these boys are gems!! 🤩❤️🤩❤️🤩

Updates!! Things have been BUSY! Muffin cat has been perking up, eating, and acting much happier without all that matted fur. Still no cause of her anemia identified yet but we are working on it. Little miss Honey is all ready to find her forever family and feeling great about it. And we had these 2 pug pals show up unexpectedly but are so pleased they’re being fostered by one of our incredible vet techs from our beloved vet so hopefully they too will be ready for homes soon…

By now we’re sure everyone has caught on to the fact that little miss Dot has not just a family, but the BEST family. And since Dot is the best pug, with the cutest face and the brightest personality and the most charm of any pup we’ve ever met - we are so pleased you can continue to enjoy her in all her glory This is what we live for: seeing dogs without hope, with pain and suffering and neglect, ending up as the most spoiled babies because they deserve nothing but the best. Every dog deserves an owner, but not every owner deserves a dog. We are so grateful to Dawn and her family for being the kind of people every dog should be so blessed to have ❤️❤️❤️
