🐈 Remember Alfie?

We introduced Alfie after rescuing him from an industrial business, where he had been living with a large cyst on his neck.

After veterinary care and surgery, we're happy to share these before-and-after photographs.

His journey is far from over, and we'll be sharing more of his story in our November Mewsletter.

💜 Thank you for helping us give animals like Alfie the care they deserve.

🐈 Sometimes scratching is more than just an itch.

Baron had been scratching at his ear, and you might think he had an infection or allergies. But during his initial examination with his primary veterinarian, a polyp-like cyst was found in his ear canal that is causing irritation.

Baron will need to see a veterinary dermatologist for treatment, and we are making arrangements to get him the care he needs.

We’ll keep you updated on Baron. 💜

🐈 Why Routine Checkups Matter

Josie is 11 years old, and like all of our senior animals, we try to have her examined by a veterinarian every six months.

At her recent routine checkup, Josie was acting normally—but her veterinarian discovered a growth in her mouth and a bladder stone. She had shown no obvious signs of a urinary problem.

Sometimes our animals give us clues that something isn't right. Sometimes they don't.

That's why regular veterinary care is so important, especially as they grow older. 💜

💜 Sometimes a Thank You Is All That Needs to Be Said 🐾

Recently, packages from our Amazon Wish List have been arriving at Animal Rescue League — food, a cat tree, cat steps, p*e pads, a vacuum, temperature covers and other much-needed supplies.

Many of these gifts were sent anonymously, so we don't know who to thank personally. If you were one of the kind people who sent something for our animals, please know that we received it, we appreciate it, and it is being put to good use.

Your kindness helps us care for the animals who depend on us every day.

From all of us at Animal Rescue League — thank you. 💜🐾

Alvin and Louie may look perfectly comfortable — but animals can't tell us when something hurts.

Changes in appetite, water consumption, activity, bathroom habits, or simply acting differently can be signs that something isn't right.

🐾 Pay attention to the little things.

Regular veterinary checkups — at least yearly, and more often for senior pets as recommended by your veterinarian — can help keep them healthy.

If you notice a change, talk with your veterinarian.

Is it time yet? ⏰

Avery is keeping a close eye on the clock, waiting for one of his favorite volunteers to arrive. ❤️

Over the years, our volunteers have made a difference in the lives of so many ARL animals. And our animals have their own special ways of showing just how much they appreciate them.

To those who have volunteered with ARL — past and present — thank you.

🐾 Mommy Whitney & Her Kittens Are Ready for Adoption! 💜

Whitney and her six kittens — Myra, Elsie, Otis, Robby, Remy & Wyatt — are ready for the next chapter of their lives.

They’ve grown, played and learned together, and each has developed a personality all their own. Now it’s time to find the loving families who will make them part of their lives. ❤️

At Animal Rescue League, kittens are adopted in pairs so they have a companion to play, grow and cuddle with.

You're Never Too Old for a Little Adventure 💜🐾

Daphne is a little over 18 years old, but apparently she hasn't gotten the message that she's supposed to slow down!

She still makes her way to the top of our five-foot cat tree — and when she gets there, she even finds time for a cuddle with her friend Darby.

We couldn't resist sharing this sweet moment between these two. Sometimes a picture really does say it all. 💜

It’s about the animal.
