Is my dog paperhung (Kb), recessive black (aa), or brindle (Kbr)?
Genetic testing has become a tool to also call out breeders for shady ethics and poor morals. It’s unfortunate that puppy families have to cross their t’s and dot their i’s because not every breeder is honest. Incorporating paperhung dogs into your program is just as shady as being the person who hung papers when it comes to unnatural variants.
An A locus test and Kbr test should be done on every “solid” appearing dog if you’re wanting to confirm paperhanging or purebred status.
