Meet Milli! Milli just checked in for her 3 week Board & Train. She’s a 5 year old mixed breed who already has lots of training, but needs additional help with reinforcing no jumping, working through some resource guarding with a splash of buildimg confidence while getting leashed.
Summer might be coming to an end for some, but summer camp just began for Miss Milli ☀️💕

Mundane Muttshots Monday.

Every week I go back through years of dog photos on my phone and answer one question: what do I actually remember?

Sometimes everything. Sometimes nothing.

This week: I remember everything. I will never forget these two.

Meet Max and Abbey. Bichon Cavalier mixes, and they spent nine years with me before their dad moved off to Colorado.

Nine years. Long enough that they stopped being clients and started being just... part of the story.

I still think about them.

Some dogs pass through your life quickly. Some stay in it. These two stayed.

I'll be honest — I've always thought the vagus nerve trend was a bunch of baloney.

Then a client's Spaniel sent me down the rabbit hole for real.

What I found: the nerve is real. The research is narrower than the ads. And almost everything being sold is just an old tool with a new name.

I'm doing the homework out loud, mid-case. Comments are open.

We closed our training center earlier this year. Not because things were slow — because a neutral room with rubber flooring isn't where real change happens.

Dog behavior changes at home, on your street, in the moments that actually matter. That's where we show up. That's always been the point.

Every week I go back through years of dog photos on my phone and answer one question: what do I actually remember?

Sometimes everything. Sometimes nothing.

This week: I remember the person. I definitely remember the orange pants.

This is Mikki -- or at least I'm pretty sure her name was Mikki. She was a dog massage therapist who would come to clients' homes and work on their dogs right there in the living room.

Yes, that's a real thing. Yes, it's completely wonderful.

I've always believed a well-cared-for dog is a well-behaved dog. When your dog feels good in their body, everything else gets a little easier.

Also I just really love spoiling dogs. Zero apologies.

I’m helping a woman in my neighborhood find a loving new home for one of her four dogs. This was her husband’s dog, but sadly, he has passed away. She is now overwhelmed with everything life has placed on her shoulders and is trying to do what is best for the dogs in her care.

This is the larger of the four dogs and is very accustomed to having a regular walking routine and spending time with its senior owner. I saw this dog with her husband for years, and they were the perfect little team. The dog was always incredibly patient and tolerant with him and seemed to have very good manners by his side.

I don’t have much information about the dog yet, but I do have photos. If anyone might be able to offer this deserving dog a loving home while also helping a family in need, please reach out to me.

Every week I go back through years of dog photos on my phone and answer one question: what do I actually remember?

Sometimes everything. Sometimes nothing.

This week: I think I remember the dog. I think I remember the family.

This is a golden retriever. I'm pretty sure the family's last name was Gifford. After 13 years and thousands of dogs, I'll be honest -- goldens start to blur together a little.

This one didn't.

He was pushy. Relentlessly, cheerfully, unapologetically pushy. Had a whole agenda and was fully committed to it every single session.

Some dogs you remember for what they learned. Some you remember for the personality they showed up with.

This guy showed up with a lot of personality.

One of these things is not like the other.

Full house!

Mundane Muttshots Monday.

Every week I go back through years of dog photos on my phone and answer one question: what do I actually remember?

Sometimes everything. Sometimes nothing.

This week: I remember the dog. I remember the location.

This is Stella. That's Stella's backyard. And if you appreciate a truly great bridge please take a moment because that bridge deserves it.

Stella was a mix. A little spicy. Completely squishy and sweet underneath.

Spicy on the outside, marshmallow on the inside. Honestly my favorite kind of dog.

The best part about summer time board and trains is the water fun! Nothing better than staying cool while practicing everyday manners.

Cappuccino's two week board and train is coming to an end, and hes made some great progress along the way! Over the last two weeks, he's refined his leash manners, learned to settle in outdoor seating areas, and gained more confidence in new environment.

We will miss you, handsome pupper 💕
