Happy New Year!!
To be honest I've never been a fan of New Year's. I think more than a birthday I feel older this day, because a whole, true year is history. I hope that you all don't feel like me lol! The past year was fraught with intense political division, but I will say no matter your stance I know you love your dogs. Politics and business don't mix well so I'll move on!
2025 had way too many "earn their wings"😪Jake (from fall '24), Bruiser, Bently, Percy, Murphy, Oliver, Charlie, Blue, Jasper, Tad, and Trapper. They were all amazing living beings deeply loved and missed.
What's new for '26? New pricing goes into effect tomorrow. I'll be dropping the business email as some of you had issues contacting me. It is all supposed to forward to my personal email, so I will just use [email protected]. I'll have new business cards made with updates, you can also find updated contact info here on the about page. The schedule will stay the same, Tue, Wed, Fri and Sat. Thank you all for your continued support❤️.

I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving with family, friends and pets! While not a cheerful topic, I wanted to notify you all of price increases starting in Jan. Depending on the size of your pup, it will be between a 10-20% increase overall.This gives you some time to check the surrounding groomers if you decide, but I really hope you stick with me! Even with the increase, I believe I'm still below the current local pricing. I still will be offering the senior and veteran discounts. Feel free to private message me questions about specific pricing. There is only a handful of December appointments available at this time.

With the cooler weather here and the soon to be cold approaching many of my clients are preferring to leave more length. Totally understandable, but best done in stages particularly with the doodles/poodle crosses. If too much length is left in the fall, it could turn into a shave down by the time the coldest weather is here, totally defeating the plan.
Matted coats can't be saved, hence the shave. Keeping it fairly short through early/mid Dec buys you time to let it grow through to the end of Feb-early Mar. It may be a shave by that time but at least the weather will be warming again. Not all of you have dogs with complicated coats( you know if you do, I'm sure!) but just some advice for the seasons ahead.
This beauty is Kylie, such a good girl!! She is generally kept short but I left just a little more length this time per owner request. Prompting me to think about the coming months and your pups!

First groom for this little bear Winston! First grooms are really just about getting them familiar with the process. He is a confident and happy little guy who won't stay little for long! I was able to keep length on his coat and hoping it doesn't mat to much in the future as it is really nice to shape. Looking forward to his next groom where I can do a smoother look and he will know what to expect!

Hope you all are enjoying this beautiful Maine summer! I'll be closed Aug 17th-25th for a last hurrah! ( Don't worry Jan! You are still good for the 22nd!)
This lovely little golden is Susie. Definitely on the small side with a very light coat, but she did come in with the classic full grinch feet😄. Super calm and so loving, I was mesmerized by her!

I realized I haven't posted here in awhile! This is Derby modeling the latest in summer cuts. He is a sweet yorkie with an always ready appetite. Given the current forecast this week hopefully your pups have a nice cool place to chill. Happy summer everyone!

Jason is on his way to the shelter!! A civilian caught him and the Buxton ACO is en route to the shelter with him!

I hope you all have enjoyed this past holiday week and managed to escape the colds and flu circulating!
This past year was saddened by the loss of our personal dog Violette. She was the hound in the upstairs window who announced the presence of clients in the driveway as only a hound can.
Several of you are I'm sure still grieving too, with the loss of Eva and Luna, Spirit, Gizmo, Simon, Bruschi and Checkers. If I missed others that have passed I'm deeply sorry, it is a difficult process.
Bark House will continue with the same schedule through 2025 and shouldn't have any major changes. I appreciate all of you continuing to schedule with me! Your dogs are very special, and after the loss of Violette, I'll admit I may have shed a few tears into your dog's fur. They are definitely part of the recovery process and make the best listeners❤️

I've been grooming Harley for a number of years now. He is not a fan of being groomed but he climbs into the tub, jumps on the table and doesn't protest nail trims. He is such a good dog, I know it's mentally difficult for him. But we know each other, he knows it will all be ok in the end. This groom went smoother than usual and I was so proud of him❤️
