Luna has a clean health record with Good hips and Normal elbows and eyes, and she holds her APR certification. 🐶✨

We love celebrating the dogs behind our program — not just the puppies, but the incredible moms, dads, and dogs who have helped shape generations of YSK Labs. ❤️

🐾 FUN FACT FRIDAY! 🐾

Did you know Labrador Retrievers were originally bred to help fishermen? 🎣🐕

Despite their name, Labradors actually trace their roots back to Newfoundland, Canada, where they were known as St. John’s Water Dogs. They helped fishermen by retrieving fish, pulling in nets, and bringing back anything that fell into the water.

That natural retrieving instinct is a BIG part of why Labs make such incredible hunting partners today! 🦆🌊

And here at Yellow Springs Kennel, that retrieving instinct is something we love to see passed down through generations. ❤️

Fun fact: A Lab’s love for carrying things around isn't always just a quirky habit… they're doing what they were bred to do! 😂🐾

🐾 **YSK FAMILY SUNDAY** 🐾

Meet **Enzo**, the youngest of this family’s three YSK dogs! ❤️

Enzo is about to turn 3 and has quite the personality. His absolute favorite thing to watch on TV is **Bluey** 🐶📺—he’ll come running as soon as he hears the theme song!

Even though he’s definitely not a small dog, Enzo is convinced he’s a lap dog. 😂 He loves climbing into your lap for a snooze or to chew on a bone.

And when he’s inside, you can almost guarantee Enzo has **something in his mouth!** He’ll jump up on the couch, growl, wag his tail, and proudly show off whatever treasure he’s carrying around. ❤️

We absolutely love seeing our YSK dogs become such a special part of their families!

Jill has been a special part of the Yellow Springs Kennel family for many years, and now she’s looking for a new family to call her own. 🏡❤️

At 9 years old, Jill is past the puppy stage and ready to enjoy the good life with someone who will give her plenty of love, attention, and a comfortable place to spend her golden years. She has been an important part of our program, and we’d love to see her find a wonderful home where she can be spoiled and loved.

🐶 FUN FACT FRIDAY!

Did you know Labradors were originally bred to help fishermen? 🎣

Long before they became the family dogs, hunting partners, and retrieving machines we know today, Labradors were working alongside fishermen in Newfoundland! They were used to retrieve fishing nets, lines, and even fish that escaped from the fishermen.

Their love of water, strong swimming ability, intelligence, and natural retrieving instinct helped make them the incredible working dogs they are today. 🌊🐕

And that natural “I NEED to carry something!” attitude? 😂
Yep… you can thank their working roots for that!

At Yellow Springs Kennel, we love seeing those natural instincts shine in our Labradors—from the family couch to the hunting field!
