Not every one of our 223 paid externships includes a snake prolapse case and a hedgehog amputation, but Ja'Nyah's did! 🦔💙🐍

During her time with the incredible team at Cy-Fair Animal Hospital, future Dr. Jenkins was able to get a front row seat to some truly unforgettable mixed animal cases and was mentored by Dr. Aubrey J. Ross II.

Experiences like these are possible because every partner hospital in the Alliance network is free to practice medicine in the way that best services its patients and community.

That means students gain exposure to a wide variety of cases, learn from passionate DVM mentors, and discover the type of practice where they want to make an impact. 💙🩺❤️

During Bryan’s paid summer externship, the team at Animal Emergency Clinic & Intensive Care Facility welcomed him from day one. Whether he was working through differentials, performing physical exams or assisting with surgeries, he was able to grow his skills and be mentored by Dr. Hannah Cavander.

Across the Alliance network, 223 externs in 2026 have been coached and mentored to get hands-on experience outside of the classroom. 💙🩺❤️
