245 days.

That is how long Zola has been waiting for her forever home.

We know great things take time, but goodness gracious are we ready to see this adorable, smart, and sweet girl find her family.

Before Zola came to us, she lived in a home where she was crated for up to 12–15 hours a day. Since arriving at UVHS, Zola has experienced the ups and downs that many long term shelter dogs face. Even with enrichment, exercise, and all the love we can give, shelter life is hard.

But we knew Zola had so much to offer. We could see that what she needed most was the same thing every dog needs: a chance to get out of the shelter and simply be a dog.

For the past couple of months, Zola has been thriving in her board-and-train program.

Watching her calmly pass other dogs, enjoy canine companionship again, learn that she is safe, and take the time to stop and smell the flowers has been nothing short of incredible.

As her time in the program begins to come to a close, we are hopeful that her person will see what we all do: a smart, loving, resilient dog who is ready for the next chapter of her life.

The last thing we want is for Zola to return to the shelter environment that caused her so much stress. Shelters are meant to be stepping stones, not places to spend months waiting for a family.

Zola would do best in a home with children 10 years and older due to her size and enthusiasm for life. She may do well with a canine companion, loves to stay active, and is incredibly intelligent. She has picked up training quickly and is eager to keep learning.

After 245 days, we think it's time for Zola's happily ever after.

Please share this post and help us find her family. We know they're out there.

NEW!!🐾 Dancer 🐾

8 years old • 55 lbs ❤️

The Ultimate Senior Lovebug!

If your perfect day involves a cozy couch, a good movie, and a loyal companion by your side, then Dancer may be the girl you've been waiting for.

This sweet senior has left her difficult past behind and is finally enjoying the good life. The worried wrinkles she once wore have softened now that she's safe, loved, and fully vetted. All that's missing is a forever family to share her golden years with.

✨ Loves everyone she meets
✨ Affectionate and cuddly
✨ Enjoys car rides
✨ Happy to lounge on the couch
✨ Low-key and easygoing
✨ Ready to be your loyal companion

Dancer is a true people dog. She adores human companionship and wants nothing more than to be included in your daily life. Whether you're running errands, watching TV, or simply relaxing at home, Dancer is happiest when she's with her people.

Because she spent much of her life fending for herself, she prefers to be the only dog in the home. While she is generally polite around other dogs, she can be nervous around them, especially near her food. For Dancer, the dream is simple: a home where she can soak up all the love and attention for herself.

She's not looking for mountain hikes or marathon runs. She's looking for soft beds, gentle walks, car rides, belly rubs, and someone who will appreciate what a special dog she is.

After all she's been through, Dancer deserves a family who will cherish her and give her the comfort, security, and love she's always deserved.

❤️ Could you be Dancer's happily ever after?
