We have been busy in August, and want to thank our clients who trust us to do the very best we can for their pets. You are not likely to see reels or Tik Toks from Dr. Matt, if you know him you know why! But we would like to let you know some of the things we have done this month. From our regular spay/neuter and mass removal surgeries to having two dogs in one week with twisted stomachs (GDV’s), one had a splenic torsion as well just for fun and the spleen came close to weighing 10 lb when we removed it, all the way to doing PennHip certification radiographs and Gastropexy’s on some dogs, as well as artificial inseminations on some bulldogs. Last night alone after we closed we did surgery on a kitten with a suspected traumatic inguinal hernia, treated a dog bitten by a rattlesnake with anti-venom and then in the middle of the night, got to help bring this cute fella into the world. The owner of this litter is a great client and does everything right by their dogs. We had radiographed the dam for a puppy count a few days before and she started whelping yesterday afternoon. I was called a little after midnight because a few hours had passed after she delivered puppy #7 and we knew there was another but she wasn’t too interested in delivering. Confirmed pup was there with an x-ray, made sure via bloodwork her glucose and calcium were good, tested for a positive Ferguson reflex (made sure she was still having contractions) then used some medical intervention and patience to allow her to deliver this handsome fella naturally without doing a cesarean section. He and his siblings are doing great! Just wanted to catch you up on our August. Let us know if we can help you out in any way!
