🐱🦟 **CATS CAN GET HEARTWORMS TOO—even indoor cats!**

Three little drops of blood might not look like much, but this small sample helps us screen our feline patients for heartworms. ❤️ Here’s our Cumberland team collecting a sample with caring hands.

An infected mosquito can transmit heartworms—and mosquitoes can sneak indoors! In cats, even a few worms can cause serious lung damage. Signs can include coughing, asthma-like breathing, vomiting, and weight loss. Some cats show little warning before sudden collapse or death.

**There is no approved medication to kill adult heartworms in cats.** Veterinary care can help manage symptoms, but prevention is essential.

Feline heartworms can also be difficult to detect. A negative test doesn’t completely rule out infection, so testing and year-round prevention work together to protect your kitty.

🍂 **OCTOBER SPECIAL: Save 50% on heartworm testing when you purchase 12 months of heartworm prevention!**

Protect your pet and save this October—call us to schedule and discuss the right prevention for your cat. 🐾

👇 Is your kitty a couch potato, an outdoor explorer, or a little of both? Tell us below!
