🐾 THE WEEKLY WOOF
Tips, Tails & a Little Groomer Wisdom
💛 LESS STRESS, MORE SPAW!
A calmer grooming visit starts before you arrive!
Does your pup put on the “please don’t leave me!” performance at drop-off? 🥺 You might be surprised how often we see those same dogs perk up once their person leaves and they settle in!
Sometimes the goodbye is the hardest part. Here’s how you can help:
🪮 Practice at home.
Gentle brushing AND combing between appointments help make grooming feel familiar. Keep practice short and positive, with praise, treats, and breaks.
😌 Bring a calm, upbeat attitude.
Dogs can pick up on our emotions. A relaxed voice and confident handoff can help reassure them—even if you’re feeling a little nervous yourself!
👋 Keep goodbyes short and sweet.
A cheerful “See you soon!” helps keep the moment simple. Lingering, repeated goodbyes, and worried hovering can make separating harder for some pups.
📅 Keep a regular grooming routine.
Familiar faces, sounds, and routines can help build confidence. Ask us about a schedule that suits your dog’s needs.
🌳 Potty before the spawty!
Give your dog a chance to p*e AND p**p before coming in. Imagine trying to relax through a haircut when you really need the bathroom! 😂 Let us know if they haven’t gone.
🎉 Save the celebration for pickup!
Once your pup is safely back with you, bring on the praise and a favorite treat. Keep the excitement at a level they enjoy!
Every dog is different. If yours struggles with separation or grooming, tell us so we can plan together. 💛
Is your dog a dramatic goodbye pup—or do they walk in like they own the place? 🐶👇
