Been enjoying watching these F1 Rex x New Zealand grow outs. It's helping me learn these new lines and seeing the improvement I hoped for in this first gen is encouraging!

Woo it's been a minute since my last post. I did want to give the Silvers their spotlight so here we go!
Silvers were a breed that absolutely enamored me while I was studying for my registrar's license and so I was able to pick up some beautiful rabbits from Lorena Ferchaud at WCC this year.
Ferchaud's LF2 (Willie) is a lovely black buck
Ferchaud's LF9 (Nellie) is a gorgeous brown doe

Then earlier this summer I was able to get another brown buck from Susan Londe and I just love him. Windy Mountains "Leo" is the cutest boy.

I can't wait to start getting some litters and learning more about this awesome breed!

This last weekend was one for the books. Beehive State Rabbit Breeders Association, the club I'm on the board for had a big show. Friday was spent with youth contests including a quiz bowl, written test, judging classes, breed ID, skill stations and showmanship. It was SO much fun and our goal is to make it bigger and better every year. Friday evening was spent with our specialty shows and Saturday was a triple open/ Youth and double cavy shows. It was a blast and completely exhausting.
I also registered my first rabbits at this show which was really cool!
And Ferchaud's LF9 "Nellie" got Reserve in Show under Judge Susan Londe!
We also walked away with a couple BOSB with Etnyre's JD734 "Dolostone" with some pretty fierce competition.

I'm really not offering much of anything this year but if you're local and looking for a good meat rabbit this would be a great option.
This is a chestnut New Zealand/ Rex cross buck and he's already 6 pounds at 11 weeks. Excellent peak and depth and width in the shoulder. He's not as wide in the loin but will have good muscle as he ages. He is heavily leaning on the Rex fur as you can see it on his back.
