We specialize in medical-needs fostering and work closely with Collie and Pug rescues, but rescue many breeds and the occasional cat.

Introducing our new foster girl, Daisy Mae!

We believe she is around 10–11 months old and a Collie mix, and she is an absolute sweetheart. We pulled her from the Bell County Shelter yesterday, and despite being kept separate from the rest of our pack since she was at the shelter and is likely unvaccinated, she is doing phenomenally well settling into our routine.

She was absolutely filthy when we picked her up, so we gave her a medicated bath to clean her up, and we are working to clear up her hotspots.

She has been getting lots of one-on-one time with me during the day, but she slept soundly in her crate last night and has not had a single accident. She is learning that toys, not rugs, are for chewing, and wow, is she learning fast!

She even fell asleep on my foot while I was working at my desk.

She is extremely affectionate and cuddly. She truly loves love and is possibly the most perfect puppy I have ever met. She is truly an incredible dog.

Once she is vaccinated and spayed, Daisy Mae will be available for adoption through Freedom Collie Rescue.

This sweet girl has been the easiest temporary foster we have ever had. She walked right in, made friends with everyone, quickly settled into our routine, and has been zero drama. Just a whole lot of pug love.

We have decided to name her Dolce Gabbana, a little play on the word dolce, meaning sweet, and her original name, Gabby. Pug Rescue of Austin likes to give each dog a unique name because using or reusing multiple names can get confusing when coordinating care, medical records, adoptions, and everything else that goes along with rescue.

Dolce Gabbana will be moving to her official foster home on Saturday. She has a vet appointment scheduled for next week and, assuming all goes well, should be available for adoption through Pug Rescue of Austin very soon!

Picked up a new temp foster yesterday. She’s a four-year-old female who was surrendered to rescue because of chronic ear infections. Another pug in the household was making things worse and wouldn’t leave her ears alone. Someone else has agreed to foster her but wasn’t available to pick her up this past weekend, so we picked her up for them. She is super sweet! But she will also be going on a weight loss plan.

Sweet little Livy sadly needed to have several teeth extracted yesterday. She is doing well, she ate dinner last night and then went back into her crate to rest. Nova was genuinely concerned about her and watched over her. She is acting more like herself today and Mateo decided she should share her bed with him. LOL
